North Central Netball Region - October Newsletter

Regional Liaison Officer -  Rebecca Mullen

North Central Region Open, 17 & Under, 15 & Under and two All Abilities teams attended Netball Victoria State Titles. Matches were played at Eagle Stadium, Werribee, recently opened with support from Wyndham council, state and federal governments.    Eagle Stadium has 12 indoor netball courts and 4 outdoor courts with amenities and café facilities. 

Open Team, coach Tamara Gilchrist, assistant coach Kylie Pierce with Raelene Baker as team manager finished in 4th position bowing out in semi-final in extra time.

17 & Under, coach Sue Boserio, assistant coach Rose Buckley with Jill Humphrey as team manager finishing in 11th place.   

15 & Under coach Betty McCoomb, assist coach Melinda Keighran with Narelle Costello  as team manager finishing in 6th place.

Umpires Jayden Cowling,  Amy Rodda and Morgan Gittins were provided coaching throughout the weekend by Netball Victoria Umpiring High Performance staff.

Open Coach Tamara Gilchrist was provided mentoring by Robyn Pym.

Two all abilities teams from Golden City Association competed on Sunday.  Championship team coached by Ros Comer finished in 5th place.  Reserve team coached by Tracey Rigney finished in 3rd place.

Netball Victoria and North Central Life Member Betty Thompson was among Netball Victoria Life Members to receive recognition of their contribution to State Titles by Netball Victoria Chair Jenny Sanchez.

League Challenge

All A Grade football netball winning teams have been invited to play in a two-day competition in March at State Netball and Hockey Centre.  Good luck to Kangaroo Flat, Colbinabbin, Newbridge and Charlton who will represent Central Victoria at the challenge.
