BUA October Newsletter

The Bendigo Umpires Association would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who umpired a game in season 2016 across the four leagues BFNL, LVFNL, NCFL and BJFL.  Filling Field, Boundary and Goal umpire appointments for up to 65 matches some weekends is an enormous task, many of this group run a senior game on a Saturday and follow up with two junior games on a Sunday.  Without your dedication to umpiring these appointments would not be filled.

To the BJFL Umpiring Group, your efforts in umpiring for many for the first time were outstanding and we hope that you will continue to following your children through to the Under 14’s and Under 16’s and that umpiring will be at a higher standard at these levels, because of the training and mentoring you received as part of this group.

Congratulations Gavin you are a worth recipient of this Life Membership and we welcome you to this very highly regarded and prestigious group of people.

The BUA would like to acknowledge and thank our sponsors who support us on and off the field.

  • Mark Prince at EyeCare Plus.
  • Bendigo Bank.
  • The Borough Club
  • Inglewood & District Community Bank

Your continued support of our organisation, ensures that we are able to provide a great coaching structure and training facility for umpires and to provide a high standard of umpiring to all of the Leagues in AFL Central Victoria.

In season 2016 we also welcomed on board as a sponsor:

  • Golden City Physiotherapy and Sports Clinic

Golden City Physiotherapy and Sports Clinic will now be the first point of call for all umpires who receive any injury or need some injury maintenance.  They have a great facility in Wattle Street, Bendigo that is set up for sports people.  We are thrilled to have you associated with the Bendigo Umpires Association and look forward to working together for many years to come.

The BUA umpires will now take a break from training.  Umpires will return to running in November and main training will start on Tuesday February 7th at Weeroona Oval.

Recruiting is always a priority for the BUA and we welcome anyone interested in keeping fit and being paid for umpiring football.  We offer roles for those with different ages, fitness and skill levels.  Field, Boundary and Goal umpires are all required for Season 2017.  If you require any further information, do not hesitate to contact Sharon McColl on 0418 569 394.
