The Victorian Government are currently announcing the recipients of the Victorian Government’s Country Football and Netball Program. Currently four of our clubs have been awarded funding with 23 sports grounds across Victoria to share in more than $2 million.
The program is aimed at helping country football and netball clubs, and clubs on the metropolitan fringe, who may be struggling with outdated, overused or non-compliant facilities. Grants of up to $100,000 are available for projects that improve facilities, including new or redeveloped change rooms, installation of improved turf, drainage and irrigation, new or upgraded netball courts or installation of sports lighting for courts or ovals.
AFL Central Vic recipients:
- Castlemaine Junior Football Club received $100,000 towards lighting up the Wesley Hill Recreation Reserve's Doug Powell Oval for training.
- Kyneton Football Netball Club received $100,000 towards the upgrade of the bottom oval pavillion Thanks to Mary-Anne Thomas MP who has presented a $100,000 cheque to go towards upgrades to the bottom oval pavilion.
- Pyramid Hill Football Netball Club received $70,279 towards the upgrade of the lighting of football oval and netball court.
- Sea Lake Nandaly Football Club received $80,000 for lighting upgrade.
