MAIDEN Gully YCW can strengthen its grip on fifth place, or Pyramid Hill could jump to the rung after Saturday’s 17th round of A-grade netball in the Loddon Valley Football Netball League.
The Eagles and Bulldogs are locked on 28 points and separated by less than one per cent ahead of a crucial contest on the Marist College court in Maiden Gully.
When these clubs last met in round eight, Pyramid Hill won a low-scoring duel, 28-22 at Mitchell Park.
In last Saturday’s play, Pyramid Hill went down to Calivil United by five goals as Maiden Gully YCW had the bye.
The next fortnight will be vital to the finals aspirations of the Eagles and Pyramid Hill.
Maiden Gully completes the home and away series in the Bendigo Bank round clash with Newbridge at home, while Pyramid Hill has the bye.
With so much at stake in the 17th round, fans can expect a great match to be played out at Marist College this Saturday between the Eagles and the red, white and blue.
In other round 17 matches, Bridgewater takes on Bears Lagoon Serpentine, and Calivil United hosts Newbridge at Calivil.
The round eight match at Serpentine ended in a 58-goal win for Bridgewater, while Calivil United scored a 17-goal win on Newbridge’s court at Riverside Park.
Inglewood forfeits the A-grade game to Marong.
Mitiamo has the bye this round and does not play for premiership points next week as the Superoos are drawn to play the Inglewood Blues.
