Hawks score crucial netball win against Mounts

THE Huntly Hawks held their place in the top five of the A-grade ladder as they scored a four-goal win against Mount Pleasant in Saturday’s ninth round of the Heathcote District Football Netball League season.

Huntly had home-court advantage at Specialist Breeders Australia Oval in Strauch Reserve for a crucial clash with the Blues.

The Hawks were determined to square their win-loss record at 4-4 and did so.

Mount Pleasant started well, but the Hawks fought back brilliantly.

By the final whistle, Huntly led 45-41.

Colbinabbin’s unbeaten streak rolled on as the Grasshoppers took a determined North Bendigo at M.J. Morgan Reserve.

Despite playing away from home, North Bendigo put in one of its best performances of the season.

Colbinabbin won a high-scoring contest, 50-46.

It was a tough afternoon for Leitchville Gunbower in its first match at Degroot Roof Painting Gunbower Reserve this season.

The Bombers took on White Hills.

It was show no mercy by White Hills as it poured in 85 goals and limited Leitchville Gunbower to 12.

Heathcote worked hard against Elmore at Pigeon Park in Heathcote’s Barrack Reserve, but the Bloods marked a 49-22 victory.

Lockington Bamawm United had the bye.

In next Saturday’s play, it’s first against third as Colbinabbin and Elmore clash on the Grasshoppers’ court at M.J. Morgan Reserve.

Heathcote will aim to celebrate its first win of the season when it plays Lockington Bamawm United at Pigeon Park.

Huntly and North Bendigo clash at Specialist Breeders Oval in Strauch Reserve.

Mount Pleasant takes on Leitchville Gunbower at Toolleen.

White Hills has the bye.
