LVFNL Netball Preview Rd 8

by Nathan Dole

THE clash between the third and fourth-placed Calivil United and Newbridge highlights this Saturday’s eighth round of A-grade netball in the Loddon Valley Football Netball League.

Newbridge will be at home on the Riverside Park court.

The Maroons and Demons are in fine form.

Newbridge fought on to achieve a 48-all draw in last Saturday’s match at Bridgewater.

Calivil United will be determined to mark a fifth victory after a 44-29 result in its latest hit-out with Pyramid Hill.

Fifth place on the ladder is at stake when Pyramid Hill hosts Maiden Gully YCW at Mitchell Park.

The Eagles have a 3-3 record and are fifth, with Pyramid Hill on 3-4 and a rung below.

Marong has the bye in A-grade, but the Panthers teams will be keen to perform well in other grades against Inglewood at Malone Park.

Bears Lagoon-Serpentine will be hoping for plenty of support around the court as it takes on Bridgewater at Janiember Park in Serpentine.

The day also doubles as a fundraiser for the Love Your Sister campaign for Breast Cancer and other cancers, as well as for Breast Cancer Network Australia.

The Bears will donate 50 per cent of the gate takings to Love Your Sister, and the funds will be matched by the club’s major sponsor, Thackers Trucks and Engineering.

After last week’s bye, BLS will be determined to chalk up its second win of the season.
