MITIAMO gained a psychological edge as it beat Bridgewater in Saturday’s 10th round of the Loddon Valley Football Netball League’s A-grade netball competition.

The clash between the ladder-leading Superoos and second-placed Bridgewater was the highlight of the competition’s 10th round.

It was goal-for-goal for most of the contest on Bridgewater’s court as Mitiamo fought on to score a 59-57 victory.

The third-placed Calivil United was made to work hard by Marong.

Although the win-loss tally was 6-2 to 2-5 in Calivil’s favour, it was the Panthers who showed a lot of poise and skill on the Raywood court.

By the final whistle, Calivil United led 54-45.

The Maiden Gully YCW Eagles passed the 50-goal mark in their 30-goal win against Bears Lagoon Serpentine.

The Eagles won 51-21.

Newbridge marked its fifth victory of the season as the Maroons marked the trek to Pyramid Hill with a 40-27 result.

In next Saturday’s matches, Mitiamo meets Calivil United in the clash between first and third.

Marong takes on Maiden Gully YCW Eagles, Bears Lagoon Serpentine faces Pyramid Hill, Inglewood hosts Bridgewater, and Newbridge has the bye.
