Sea Lake Nandaly star claims Feeny Medal
A GUN on-baller for Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers, Wade Donnan has claimed the Feeny Medal as fairest and best in the Goldacres North Central senior footy competition for 2024.
Donnan polled 25 votes to win a closely-fought contest for the prestigious honour.
Runner-up was Donald’s Andrew Browne on 20 votes.
Both will play crucial roles as the Tigers and Royals contest semi-finals next weekend.
Donnan and his SLN team-mates will take on Birchip-Watchem in Saturday’s second semi-final at George Cartwright Oval in Birchip.
Browne and the Donald team will fight to stay in the premiership race when they meet Wedderburn in Sunday’s first semi-final.
Equal third in the Feeny medal race were Birchip-Watchem ruckman Hamish Hosking and Boort’s Jhye Baddeley-Kelly on 18 votes.
Recruited to the Bulls from Sandhurst, Hosking will play a crucial role in the charge toward premiership glory.
Baddeley-Kelly’s consistency was a highlight for the Boort Magpies.
Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers marked a medal-winning double as Connor Michael scored 18 votes to earn the James and Jenny Goldsmith trophy as fairest and best in the reserves competition.
Runner-up was Harry Weaver from Boort on 15 votes.
It was a tie for the Jeff ‘Woofa’ Guild trophy as under-17s fairest and best as Boort’s Max Beattie and Charlton’s Seb Zagame were locked on 21 votes.
