I am saddened to inform you that Norm Sheahan has submitted his resignation from AFL Central Victoria in his role as Region Operations Manager.
Norm has made a very valuable contribution to AFL Central Victoria across 7 years since starting with the us as the Junior Football Operations Manager in 2013. During this period he managed the Bendigo Junior Football League growing female participation and the number of teams across his tenure.
More recently Norm moved to the Region Operations Manager and has successfully managed our partnerships ensuring that both football and netball and our partners benefit from the relationship. He has been instrumental in managing the AFL CV Football Academy and overseeing the growth of the Central Victorian Football League Women Competition. In addition he managed the match review panel process and the tribunal to ensure we provided a professional service to our clubs and umpires.
The clubs and leagues which he worked with trusted his judgement and enjoyed the support which he provided.
He had a broad level of responsibility but managed all of these in the same calm manner which he has demonstrated in everything else he has encountered whilst employed in the football industry.
His contribution to community football and junior football in particular, has been significant and will always be valued by those Norm has worked with over the past years.
Norm’s last day at AFL Victoria will be Friday 18th December. We thank him for all his efforts and wish him all the best in his next role.
