Hay outplays Murrabit to be A-grade premier

HAY capped a remarkable run in the Golden Rivers FNL netball finals series by winning Saturday’s A-grade grand final against Murrabit.

Third at the end of the home-and-away series, Hay made its way from the first semi-final to take on Murrabit in the clash for premiership glory.

A 15-1 run meant Murrabit finished the home-and-away series on top of the ladder.

The Blues won the second semi-final against Ultima by 11 goals to be first to the grand final.

Hay’s streak began with a 12-goal victory against Moulamein in the first semi-final.

The Lions then won a preliminary final thriller against Ultima by three goals.

All four of Hay’s meetings with Murrabit in the regular season ended in defeat by margins of 22, eight, 40, and three goals.

On grand final day it was Hay which charged to a 62-48 victory against the Blues.

In B-grade action, Murrabit beat Ultima by 40 goals.

The Blues outplayed the Roos to mark a 67-27 victory.

A great day for Hay included a 13-goal win against Ultima to be the B-reserve premiers.

The Lions led 41-28 at the final siren.

It was not all doom and gloom for Murrabit as the Blues won the C-grade match with Wandella by six goals.

Murrabit was beaten just once in the run to the finals.

Just one goal separated Ultima and Hay at the end of the 17-and-under play-off.

It was the Roos who celebrated a 40-39 victory.

Ultima won the second semi-final against the Lions by three goals.

The league’s youngest players took to the court in the 14-and-under grand final.

A showdown between the Blues and Lions ended in a 57-47 win for Murrabit against Hay.
