INGLEWOOD finally broke Pyramid Hill’s hoodoo in Saturday’s round 15 clash in Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL senior footy.
The Blues and Bulldogs clashed at Inglewood’s Centre State Scaffolding Oval.
Up against a team on the rebound from defeat and under pressure to hold fifth spot, Inglewood played inspired football.
The Fergus Payne-coached Blues raced to a 37-6 lead by quarter-time.
Pyramid Hill fought back to win the second, 21-18.
Inglewood worked hard to score four goals apiece in the third and fourth quarters as the defence held the red, white and blue to tallies of three and two majors.
As Seb Erharter kicked on for a team-high four goals he had plenty of support from Inglewood team-mates Lachlan Ford, Lachlan Harris and Fergus Payne who added two goals each in a 109-65 victory.
Pyramid Hill’s attack was led by Ben Bisset and Harrison Goodes on four goals.
Best for Inglewood were Tom Kennedy, Bregon Cotchett, Harry Veitch, Gabe Nevins, Cody Stobaus and Jackson Hood.
Gavin James, Kai Daniels, Ryan Semmel, Dylan Morison, Mitch Gunther and Bailey George were best for the Nathan Fitzpatrick-coached Bulldogs.
Bears-Lagoon Serpentine kicked clear in the second half for a 96-54 result against Maiden Gully YCW Eagles at Gadsden Finance Serpentine Reserve.
The Bears led 26-2 at quarter-time, but the Eagles fired up to score five goals in the second to be within 10 points at the long break.
The Jake Wilkinson-coached Bears won the third, 15-10, and then scored six goals in the last as it kept the Eagles to just two goals.
Former Fremantle Dockers forward Josh Mellington led the Bears attack on four goals as Haryr Gadsden, Nash Kemp, Justin Laird and Jake Wilkinson kicked two majors in a 96-54 victory.
Eagles co-coach and former Essendon and Port Adelaide forward/mid Angus Monfries booted a match-high five goals.
Best for the Bears were Nash Kemp, Tyler Miles, Justin Laird, Jaxon Addlem, Nathan Twigg and Ross Turner.
Stacy Fiske, Angus Monfries, Grayson Brown, Sean Moyle, Mitch Whitham and Mitch Hill were best for a Maiden Gully YCW Eagles team which has Shawn Filo as non-playing co-coach.
Mitiamo marked its third victory of the season in a superb display of attack and defence on Newbridge’s ground at Deepcore Drilling Riverside Oval.
The Luke Lougoon-coached Mitiamo raced to a 30-8 lead by quarter-time and was up 38-8 by the long break.
As the Superoos scored six goals in the third they kept Newbridge to a tally of two behinds.
Mitiamo held a 69-point lead going into the final quarter.
The Matt McArthur-coached Newbridge hit back to win the last, 22-16, but it was Mitiamo which celebrated a 95-32 victory.
Doug Thomas led the Superoos’ attack on four goals as Kobe Galvin and Alex Lloyd added three each.
Newbridge key forward Billy Schilling booted three goals.
Best for Mitiamo were Matt Gilmour, Tyler Rasmussen, Jack Daglish, Zak Myers, Jayden Matthews and Bryce Laird.
Thomas Hobson, Caleb Argus, Andrew Padbury, Jack Teasdale, Caleb Sanders and Liam Nihill were Newbridge’s best.
Bridgewater jumped to the top of the ladder after a 138-point win on Calivil United’s turf.
The Mean Machine racked up 22 goals and kept the Demons to one major across four quarters.
Bridgewater coach and gun forward Lachie Sharp kicked 11 goals to be a runaway leader in the league’s goalkicking race on 86.
Other multiple goalkickers in the 148-10 victory were Boden Alexander and Ollie Muggleton on two.
Henry McCarthy was on target for Calivil United.
Best for Bridgewater were Luke Ellings, Lachie Sharp, Josh Martyn, Alex Powell, Harry Conway and Darcy Ferguson.
Riley Walsh, Rhys Lourie, Jayden Manderson, Henry McCarthy, Sam Green and Jack Maher worked hard on a tough afternoon for the Sam Maher-coached Demons.
Marong had the bye.

Inglewood meets Calivil United at Inglewood’s Centre State Scaffolding Oval.
Bridgewater will be on home turf against Newbridge.
