MACORNA’S unbeaten run in its debut season in Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL senior footy has kept rolling on.
The Tigers won last Sunday’s round three clash with Bears Lagoon-Serpentine by 43 points.
Macorna went into this match with a change to its coaching structure as playing coach Fergus Payne began a three-match suspension.
Assistant coach Dean McGowan was in charge of the yellow and black for the home game.
Macorna raced to a 38-10 lead by quarter-time and was up 69-27 by the main break.
The Tigers added six goals in the third and kept the Bears to a major.
By three quarter-time Macorna led 108-34.
The Jake Wilkinson-coached Bears lifted their intensity dramatically in the last to score six goals.
At the final siren Macorna led 116-73.
The Tigers’ attack was led by Dimitri Fasoulis on four as Seb Erharter and Kieran Foley kicked three goals and Broden Wishart booted two.
Farran Priest kicked a match-high five goals for the Bears as Jordan Priestely kicked two.
Best for Macorna were Josh Whittle, Kieran Foley, Toby and Sam Whinfield, Hunter Anset and Broden Wishart.
A list of best players for BLS was not supplied.
Bridgewater won the Anzac clash with Inglewood by 27 points.
The Mean Machine powered to a 31-16 lead by quarter-time on Bridgewater’s turf.
Inglewood won the next term, 14-13.
Just 21 points separated the teams going into the final term.
Bridgewater coach Lachie Sharp went on to kick seven goals as Oscar McKinley added three and Tyler Estrada chipped in with two in a 98-71 victory.
The Blues’ attack was led by captain Daniel Polack on three.
Best for Bridgewater were Josh Martyn, Pat Murphy, Jack Symons, Tyler Estrada, Oscar McKinley and Tyson Taylor.
Liam Marciano, Tom Kennedy, Bregon Cotchett, Gabe Nevins, Charlie Aitken and Lachlan Harris were best for the Jackson Hood-coached Blues.
Newbridge broke its season ‘duck’ in a 101-44 result on Mitiamo’s ground at John Forbes Oval.
A six -goal burst in the second term set up Newbridge’s victory.
The Maroons led 12-8 at quarter-time and then scored 6.6 as they kept Mitiamo to a point in the second.
Newbridge won the third, 32-13.
The Luke Lougoon-coached Mitiamo won the final quarter, 22-15.
At the final siren the Jayden Cordy-coached Newbridge team and supporters celebrated a 101-44 victory.
Caleb Sanders kicked five goals in a best-on-ground performance as Jackson Eadon kicked three and Brandon Dimech added two.
Mitiamo’s leading goalkicker was Bryce Laird on two.
Best for Newbridge were Caleb Sanders, Jack McInerney, Jackson Eadon, Jon Coe, Baxter Ash and Ricky Cathie.
Mitiamo’s best were Joey Mizzi, Luke Lougoon, Colby Collins, Daniel Baldwin, Bryce Laird and Koby Gibson.
The round began with the Anzac Day match between Pyramid Hill and Maiden Gully YCW Eagles at Pyramid Hill’s Mitchell Park.
A closely-fought first half ended with Pyramid Hill in front, 48-37.
The Shawn Filo-coached Eagles worked hard to keep the heat on the Bulldogs.
By three quarter-time Pyramid Hill led 70-58.
The Jarrod Fitzpatrick-coached Bulldogs dominated most of the final term to score 5.6 as the Eagles added 2.1.
Zach Alford finished with four goals as Isaac Brill kicked three in a 106-71 victory.
Other multiple goalkickers for the red, white and blue were Jhye Baddeley-Kelly, Mitch Dingwall and Harrison Goodes on two.
The Eagles’ attack was led by Luke Gray and Mitch Hill on three each as Tye Bedford added two.
Best for Pyramid Hill were Isaac Brill, Lachlan Sidebottom, Jhye Baddeley-Kelly, James Sala, Zach Alford and Will Quinlivan.
Maiden Gully YCW Eagles’ best were Daniel Russell, Lewis Pigdon, Tye Bedford, Mitch Hill, Isaac Neretlis and Mitch Whitham.
Calivil United took on Marong in Sunday’s match at Calivil Recreation Reserve.
The James Flaherty-coached Marong made a superb start.
The Panthers booted eight goals and kept Calivil United scoreless in the opening term.
The Demons fought back as Marong added just 14 points in the second.
A nine-goal blitz in the third put Marong up by 18 goals going into the final term.
Cooper Hale led the attack with seven goals in a best-on-ground performance as Marong marked a 137-17 victory.
Other multiple goalkickers for the Panthers were Brad Matthews on five, and Corey Gregg and Shaun Knott with two.
Calivil United’s goals were kicked by Cody Thompson and Zac Tickell.
Best for Marong were Cooper Hale, Jimmy Gadsden, Michael Bradbury, Jacob Ede, Brad Matthews and Zac Justice.
Zac Tickell, Hugh Calder, Dylan Goulding, Brodie Wagner, Tyler Rasmussen and Aidan Roulston were best for the Sam Maher-coached Calivil United.

Meanwhile in the netball…….MITIAMO outplayed Marong in Sunday’s third round of A-grade netball in the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL season.
The Jen Wilson-coached Mitiamo was in hot form across all thirds of the court at John Forbes Oval in Mitiamo.
As the reigning premier poured in 78 goals it kept the Hayley Martiniello-coached Newbridge to a tally of 40.
Bridgewater burst Inglewood’s bubble on Bridgewater’s court.
The Carly Wild and Lou Dupuy-coached Bridgewater was hungry for the points after a 40-42 loss at home to Newbridge in round one, and a 53-50 defeat on Pyramid Hill’s court at Mitchell Park.
Bridgewater faced an Inglewood line-up which had made an impressive start to the season.
The Dani O’Toole-coached Inglewood won the season opener against Pyramid Hill by four goals and followed up with a 10-goal win at home at Centre State Scaffolding Oval against Marong.
Sunday’s match was Inglewood’s first road trip of the season.
The Blues could not halt the Mean Machine charging to a 64-31 victory.
Play began on Anzac Day when Pyramid Hill hosted Maiden Gully YCW Eagles at Mitchell Park.
The Bulldogs outpointed the Eagles, 52-32.
The result put the Chelsea Emmerson, Amber Dingwall and Darci Tierney-coached Pyramid Hill in second place.
The Christie Griffifths-coached Eagles are eighth on a one-two record.
Macorna faced Bears Lagoon-Serpentine on Macorna’s court.
The Brooke Allison-coached Tigers could not halt the Bears breaking way for a 45-28 victory.
After starting the season with back-to-back losses the Erin Varker-coached BLS is seventh on a one-two record.
It was the Demons against the Panthers as Calivil United met Marong on Sunday at Calivil Recreation Reserve.
The Annie Blow and Alex Ingram-coached Calivil United worked hard, but it was Marong which took the points in a 56-43 victory.
A Marong team coached by Bridget Willox and Bianca Garton is third in the premiership race.
