NORTH Bendigo unleashed a final quarter blitz to beat Heathcote by 50 points in Saturday’s round seven clash in Agnico Eagle Fosterville Gold Mine Heathcote DFNL senior footy.
The Bulldogs faced a 15-point deficit at quarter-time of their home game at Bendigo Club Oval in Atkins Street.
As the Dogs scored five goals in the second they kept the Saints to a solitary major.
By the main break North Bendigo led 47-35.
The Heathcote line-up coached by Andrew Saladino, non-playing, and Liam Jacques, playing, looked a great chance to end its winless run in the kennel after it scored 6.2 and held the Dogs to a tally of 3.6 in the third.
Going into the final term the Saints were up 73-71.
The last was dominated by the Bulldogs as they slammed on 11 goals and the Saints added two goals.
Heathcote was down to 17 on-field after Jacques was yellow-carded and sent off after being reported for striking.
The Bulldogs seized on the moment and surged to a 138-88 victory.
Cody Riddick capped a great match with six goals as Dylan Klemm kicked four.
Other multiple goalkickers for a team which has Rob Bennett as non-playing co-coach were Brandon Etherington and Storm Giri on two.
Heathcote’s attack was led by Daniel Johnstone and Sean Williams on three as Hugh Freckleton added two.
Best for the Bulldogs were Dylan Klemm, Cody Riddick, Will Gilmore, co-coach Ryan Hartley, Liam Dillon and Jake Dean.
Heathcote’s best were Hugh Freckleton, Dillon Williams, Will Tobin, Joey Beedle, Stefan Rasinac and Callum Birch.
It was a winning margin of 41 points for Colbinabbin against the Harlowe Huntly Hawks.
The Linton Jacobs-coached Colbinabbin was on home turf at M.J. Morgan Oval against a Hawks team desperate to end its winless run.
Colbinabbin skipped away to a 34-13 lead at quarter-time and then won the second term, 21-15.
As the Grasshoppers slotted four goals in the third quarter they held the Hawks to a tally of two majors.
Defences were on top in the last as both teams scored a goal apiece.
Nathan Basile, Isaac Carracher, Brandyn Grenfell and Matt Riordan all kicked two goals in a 90-51 victory for the green and gold.
Huntly’s attack was led by Sam Dunstan, Abe Sladden and Lachy Wilson with two goals apiece.
Playing against his former club, Connor Aldous was Colbinabbin’s best along with Jack Lear, Josh Smithson, Isaac Carracher, Sam and Jude Ryan.
Harrison Campbell, Todd Stevenson, Steve Kairn, Abe Sladden, Nathan Dunstan and Will Lee were best for the Hamish Morcom-coached Hawks.
Leitchville Gunbower won every quarter in a 93-52 victory on Elmore’s ground.
The Joel Donehue-coached Leitchville Gunbower led 21-20 at quarter-time and then scored four goals as the Bloods added two majors in term two.
A 14-point buffer for the Bombers at half-time became six goals at a quarter to play after they won the third term, 27-5.
A closely-fought last quarter went LG’s way, 19-14.
The Bombers’ attack was led by Jack Dye and Billy Hawken on three goals as Tom Brereton, Nic Cattapan, Xavier Colvin and Blake Dye added two each.
Lachie Munro slotted three goals as James Harney kicked two majors for the Luke Freeman-coached Bloods.
Leitchville Gunbower’s best were Darcy Elliott who was in the ruck in place of the injured Jobee Warde.
The Bombers also had Nic Cattapan, Xavier Colvin, Billy Hawken, Jye Keath and James Brereton win plenty of contests.
Elmore’s best were Peter Rothacker, Rhys Holmberg, Matt Gilmour, Lachie Munro, Matt Filo and Jack Smith.
The unbeaten streak for Mount Pleasant kept rolling as the Blues played on the White Hills ground.
Pressure was on early as White Hills led 25-14 at quarter-time.
In the second it was the Blues who dominated play.
As Mount Pleasant slammed on 11 goals it kept the Demons to just the one major.
The Blues were up 82-33 at half-time.
A White Hills line-up coached by Brad McConnell and Lachie Sawyer kept working hard and was rewarded with five goals in the third as Mounts added three.
Gun forward Ben Weightman finished with a match-high nine goals in what became a 135-88 victory for the reigning premier.
Other multiple goalkickers for the Blues were Mitch Bennett and Jack Hickman on two.
In his third match for the club, Strahan Robinson kicked five goals for White Hills as Cohen Kekich kicked three.
Best for a Mount Pleasant team coached by Josh Hann, playing, and Cam Carter, playing, were Ben Weightman, Xavier Carter, Jack Hickman, Brodie Leonard-Shannon, Hugo Gibson and Ed Harrop.
The Demons’ best were Nic O’Brien, Jack Lawton, Tom Conlan, Doolan Nihill, Jake Thompson and Strahan Robinson.
Lockington Bamawm United had the bye.

In the Netball………HEATHCOTE stunned North Bendigo in Saturday’s seventh round clash in the Agnico Eagle Fosterville Gold Mine Heathcote DFNL A-grade netball season.
The Saints netted their second victory of the season as they marched to a 10-goal victory on North Bendigo’s court at Bendigo Club Oval in Atkins Street.
The Brooke Price-coached Heathcote was determined to bounce back after a two-goal loss to Elmore at Pigeon Park in Heathcote’s Barrack Reserve.
On Saturday the Saints teamed superbly to pour in 45 goals and worked well in defence to limit the Kiralee Kinder-coached North Bendigo to a tally of 35 goals.
Elmore’s fightback from a nil-four start kept rolling as the Bloods marked a 27-goal win at home against Leitchville Gunbower.
The Adam Boldstion-coached Elmore followed up its breakthrough victory at Heathcote in round six by scoring a 58-31 win against the Bombers.
The Leitchville Gunbower team is coached by Katie Pollock.
Mount Pleasant scored an eight-goal victory in the White Hills den in Scott Street.
The Anthea McCleary-coached Blues won 51-43
Colbinabbin passed the 90-goal mark in its home clash with Harlowe Huntly Hawks at M.J. Morgan Oval.
The Jen McIntyre-coached Grasshoppers poured in 91 goals as the Hawks were held to a tally of 20.
A finalist in ’25, Huntly is coached by Kym Bell and Ash Sherlock.
Lockington Bamawm United had the bye.
