BALRANALD marked a superb 16-point win against Woorinen in Saturday’s third round of senior footy in the Central Murry Football Netball League.
The Kangaroos were on home turf at Greenham Park to face the Tigers in the 3SH-backed competition.
Balranald led 11-2 at quarter-time and 30-13 by the main break.
A tally of 4.3 to 1.1 in the third put the Roos up by more than six goals at a quarter to play.
Woorinen dominated most of the final term as it added 6.5 to 3.2, but it was the Kangaroos who celebrated a 77-61 victory.
Jydon Neagle kicked three goals in a best afield performance as Ben and Ian Fuller, and Matthew Neagle added two each.
Multiple goalkickers for Woorinen were Danko Bzenic and Doug Beames on two.
Best for the Kangaroos included Jaxon Neagle, Ian Fuller, Ethan Gant, Jordan Wilkins and Matthew Neagle.
Lachlan Gardner, Lachlan Warburton, Taylor Cameron, Douglas Beames, Jye Barry and Robbie Miller played well for the Tigers.
Cohuna Kangas kicked clear in the second half to beat Lake Boga by 46 points on the Kangas’ ground.
It was 39-37 in Cohuna’s favour at half-time.
Led by the play of Sam McGlone, Chris Anderson and Joel Helman, Cohuna scored 5.3 to 1.1 in the third.
It was a high-scoring final term as the Kangas added 6.1 to 3.1 to mark a 109-63 victory.
Rhys Free won plenty of contests on his way to a match-high seven goals as Luke Conca, three; Daniel Coates and Jack Donat, two, capped off attacking moves for the Tyson Findlay-coached Cohuna.
Only multiple goalkicker for Lake Boga was Byron Holt with two.
Best for the Kangas included Luke Conca, Rhys Free and Dylan Johnstone.
Lake Boga’s best were Matthew Payne, Lochie Laing, Matt Taverna, Jake Warren, Lincoln Sieben and Nathaniel Holmes-Brown.
It was a closely-fought finish between Mallee Eagles and Swan Hill at Lalbert.
The Eagles led 40-37 at half-time before the Swans slammed on 8.3 to 3.2 in the third to gain a 28-point lead.
Mallee fired up to win the last, 28-13, but it was Swan Hill which celebrated a 101-88 victory.
Zach Mihocek led the Swans’ attack on four goals as Wilhem Bennett, Jose Miliado and Toby Thoolen chipped in with two each.
Leading goalkickers for Mallee Eagles were Brent Macleod, four; Ethan Pinchen, three; and Shaun Harrison, two.
Swan Hill’s best were Luke Phelan, Jose Miliado, Toby Thoolen, Zach Mihocek, Matthew Wade and Lachlan Joyce.
Ethan Pinchen, Brett Thomas, Shaun Harrison, Clinton Cummins, Harrison Allen and Ayden Tessari played well for the Eagles.
Kerang won three quarters in an 82-31 victory against Nyah Nyah West United at Nyah.
The Blues led 26-7 at quarter-time before the Demons fought back to win the second, 13-9.
A six-goal blitz in the third by Kerang put the result beyond doubt.
Michael Dalrymple led the Blues’ attack on four goals as coach Troy Coates, three; Ryan Gillingham and Michael Runciman, two, also played well in the forward 50m arc.
Jarrod Stokes kicked two goals for the Demons.
Gun ruckman Nic Lang was best afield for Kerang as Josh Hunter, Michael Dalrymple, Sean Hunter, Josh Hann and Josh Nitschke played key roles in another win.
Best for Nyah Nyah West United were Joel Campbell, Joel Walsh, Zack Threadgold, Oliver Boulton, Ethan Saville and Kayne Davidson.
Tyntynder dominated its clash with Koondrook Barham at Alan Garden Reserve in Swan Hill.
The Bulldogs led 24-14 at quarter-time and then scored 6.3 to 1.2 in the second and 4.3 to 1.3 in the third term.
Tyntynder slammed on 9.5 to 1.2 in the last to complete a 149-39 victory.
The Bulldogs’ attack was led by Matt Corney, five; Liam Whelan, four; Justin Ellis and Roy George, three; Tyrone Bean, Patrick Blake and Isaiah Bull, two.
Lachlan Laursen kicked two goals for the River Raiders.
Tyntynder’s best were Matt Corney, Roy George, Liam Whelan, Patrick Blake, Elliot Broad and Matt Gilbee.
Scott Wood, Mitch Christensen, Harley Burmeister-Lyons, Jordan Bassett, Reagan Hamilton and Lachlan Laursen worked hard for Koondrook Barham.
Tooleybuc Manangatang had the bye.
