A new coaching course is available for experienced community footy and talent pathway coaches in Victoria who aspire to upskill and progress, with the Advanced Coaching Practices Course to be delivered from early December.
Coaches wishing to nominate for the course via an expression of interest process (link below) must meet the following criteria:
1. Hold a current AFL Level 2 Coach Accreditation for a minimum of two years
2. Currently be coaching in one of the AFL Victoria targeted groups listed below
3. Be able to commut to 100% attendance for all course sessions to complete the Advanced Coaching Practices course
4. Must have the endorsement of their Club, League and AFL Victoria staff
Coaches from the following groups are encouraged to consider applying:
Community Club Level
- Experienced Senior Head Coaches with a coaching role at a club (5+ years)
- Senior Head Coach (3+ years)
- Experienced coaches who are currently in Assistant Coaching roles will also be considered
State/Talent Level
- Experienced Youth Head Coaches
- Coaching Directors or Coordinator (with considerable coaching experience) where management of a coaching program and/or a panel of coaches is involved
Coaches who complete this course will:
1. Become a GOLD coach through completing this course
2. Have face-to-face workshop delivery from subject matter experts in the field
3. Have an AFL/W coach mentor
4. Have networking opportunities and experiences, including a unique “Game Day Corporate Box Experience” to celebrate the completion of the course.
Please note that the course will be a blended program delivered virtually and face to face over an 8-month period, beginning with in-person sessions in Melbourne on December 7-8, 2024.
Successful applicants will be notified by the 15th of November by AFL Victoria, and will receive full course details at this time.
