AFL Central Victoria has launched the ‘Play On 2022’ campaign, to encourage all football and netball players, coaches,
umpires, volunteers, and sponsors to return and reconnect with their community club for season 2022. COVID-19
unfortunately again significantly impacted community football and netball participation during 2021, however it is
with growing anticipation that AFL Central Victoria will lead the charge to ‘Play On’ in season 2022.
Following two interrupted seasons, the ‘Play On’ message is targeted at a variety of local community members, to
encourage them to join or reconnect with their local club through volunteering, playing, umpiring, or assisting in
general.
Local sporting communities understand the sense of belonging to a local club that has been disjointed during
2020/2021, so it is critical that we reconnect the playing groups, coaches, umpires, and volunteers to promote both
football and netball, and return the enjoyment and many benefits of participation.
In 2022, the AFL will introduce PlayHQ (replacing SportsTG) as the new registration and administrative platform for
community football. PlayHQ will bring community football leagues, clubs, players, and venues together on a single
platform from season 2022 – everything from registrations, payments, fixtures, live scoring, statistics, and competition
management. Respective local clubs will open and announce 2022 registrations across the coming weeks, with the
regular football transfer period this off-season to officially open from February 1st, 2022.
Likewise, Netball Victoria’s associations and leagues will move from MyNetball to Netball Connect – a brand-new
digital platform, which is being specifically developed for the Victorian netball community. With improved modern
technology, it will provide the entire netball family with a much easier user experience to manage, score, play and
spectate.
Further information regarding the rollout of the new 2022 football and netball administrative platforms will be
provided by leagues, associations, and local clubs in due course.
