LBU Cats claw way to another victory
THE Lockington Bamawm United Cats clawed their way to another victory in the weekend’s 15th round of the Bendigo Junior Football League season.
LBU’s rising stars were on home turf at Lockington to play Strathfieldsaye Storm in the under-16 reserves, division one match.
The LBU Cats won 75-48 and hold third place on the ladder at one round to go in the home-and-away series.
Goalkickers for the Cats were Colby Roberts with three, and Harrison Condliffe, Nicholas Mitchell and Oscar Palmer on two.
LBU also had Axel Dixon and William Hann on target.
Best for Lockington Bamawm United were Axel Dixon, Ted Voss, Charlie Byrne, Harrison Lees, Cory Rowlands and Aziyah Gibson.
The Cats make their way to Huntly’s Strauch Reserve this Sunday for the clash of the Cats and second-placed Hawks from 11am.
A near neighbour of Lockington Bamawm, Rochester leads the under-16 reserves, division two ladder.
The Rochester Tigers won last Sunday’s home game at Windridge Oval against Kangaroo Flat by seven goals.
Morgan Boyack and Jimmy Otto kicked three goals and Kade Pearse added two in a 76-34 victory for the yellow and black.
Best for Rochester were Sam Seabrook, Mitch Munro, Darby Martin, Darcey Pump, Kade Pearse and Cale James.
Rochester will be back at Windridge Oval next Sunday to play South Bendigo.
The showdown of the Tigers and Bloods starts at 11.30am.
