White Hills win clash of Demons at Quarry Hill
IT WAS an all-Demons clash as White Hills played Quarry Hill in the under-12B match across the weekend’s eighth round of the Bendigo Bank Bendigo Junior Football League season.
The Quarry Hill line-up was on home turf at Ken Wust Oval and led 31-21 at half-time.
White Hills fired up to win the third quarter, 25-8.
Although the hosts won the last term, 12-10, it was White Hills which marked a 56-51 victory.
Hudson Ruffell kicked three goals for White Hills as Chase Kelson and Arlow Smith added two and Patrick Millar chipped in with one.
Best for White Hills were Axl Birch, Azlaan Ezad, Noah Fuller, Hudson Ruffell, Arlow Smith and Kobe Solomano.
The Demons made their way to Strathfieldsaye’s Triple M Park to face Storm in the under-16 reserves, division one match.
White Hills led 21-7 at quarter-time and opened up a 25-point buffer by half-time.
The Demons won the next term, 31-12.
Strathfieldsaye struck back to win the last, 16-12, but it was White Hills which marked an 84-44 victory.
Finn Millar capped a great match with four goals for the red and black as Jylan Holborn added three and Dustin Murley chipped in with two.
Best for White Hills were Finn Millar, Dustin Murley, Lucas Boyle, Cooper Thornton, Seth Fuller and Cruz Shill.
White Hills took on Kangaroo Flat in the under-14 reserves, division one match in the Demons den at Winslow Constructors Oval in Scott Street.
The Demons led 34-15 at half-time and kicked on for an 81-39 victory.
Isaiah Cass, Charlie Dickins, Jakob Finch and Jensen Sawyer all kicked two goals as Ryder Argus, Ewan Paterson, Miller Polglase and Jack Yates added one.
Best for White Hills were Miller Polglase, Dustin Ketterer, Blaik Young, Jakob Finch, Harry Morrish and Lon Schelfhout.
The Demons won the under-14 reserves, division three clash with Heathcote at White Hills.
Accuracy was a key factor as the red and black scored 12.4 in a 38-point win against the Saints.
Darcy Mullen and Bowden Murley led the Demons’ attack on three goals apiece as Ethan McDonnell and Logan Whittle added two.
Alex Hilson and captain Jack Newton were also on target.
Best for the Demons were Dennis Edwards, Cooper Boyd, Lachlan Villiers, Blake Humphrey, Charlie Ayres and Logan Whittle.
White Hills was on home turf at Winslow Constructors Oval in Scott Street for the under-15 Girls match against Strathfieldsaye.
The Storm team charged to a 31-nil lead by quarter-time.
From there the Demons outscored their opponents in the next three quarters, 33-19.
At the final siren Strathfieldsaye led 50-33.
Goalkickers for White Hills were Sophie O’Connell, two; Maleah Alford, Ashley Lythgo and Belle Mapperson.
Best for the Demons were Hayley Molyneux, Maleah Alford, Ashley Lythgo, Summer Clarke, Kassidy Cail and Georgie Coller.
In the under-12 Girls competition, White Hills played St Francis Blue in Friday night’s match at Mercy Junortoun Sports Precinct.
The Demons won the last quarter, 6-3, but it was St Francis which took the points in a 24-13 result.
Goalkickers for White Hills were Sahrii Alford and Lola McGrath.
Best for the Demons were Phoebe Pedersen, Alexys Higgins, Lola McGrath, Darci Boyd and Shay Pearce.
White Hills faced Strathfieldsaye in the under-12E match at Winslow Constructors Oval in Scott Street, White Hills.
Storm surged to a 33-1 lead by half-time.
The Demons fought back strongly to win the third term, 13-nil.
Strathfieldsaye won the contest, 40-20.
Goalkickers for White Hills were Bentley Dalton-Downward, Chayse Letts and Nate Vassallo.
Best for the Demons were Chayse Letts, Will Browne, Zayne Bowden, Nate Vassallo, Lucas O’Keefe.
