-By Nathan Dole

THE clash of third and second-placed Murrabit and Ultima highlights Saturday’s fifth round of senior footy in the Golden Rivers competition.

A two-two record has Murrabit in third place in the premiership race.

The Blues face a huge challenge against Ultima whose only defeat in its quest for back-to-back premierships was to Hay.

Murrabit and Ultima will play from 2.25pm at Murrabit Recreation Reserve.

The Jack Shannahan-coached Murrabit fought to score an 88-73 win at Moulamein last Saturday.

Best for the Blues were Sam Copland, Austin McKerrow, Ben Derbas and Logan McKinnon.

Murrabit’s team for this round includes captain Ben Gillingham, Jordan Lampi, Bryden Morison, Matt Moon, Pras Sayakhot, Joseph and Michael Zambelli.

Stung by defeat the previous round, Ultima hit back to record a 70-point win at Macorna.

Best for the Kangaroos were Cameron Johnson, Ryan Featherby, Thomas Isma and co-coach Mitchell Seton-Stewart.

An Ultima team which has Kyle Symons as co-coach includes Ryan Devereux, Thomas Bull, Matt Taverna, Jye Purtill and Ricky Wild.

It’s the clash of the big Cats as Macorna Tigers meet Hay Lions from 2.30pm in Macorna.

Massive task for a Macorna team coached by Paul Longstaff and Shaun Haffenden.

Key players in the yellow and black squad include Jackson Fry, Llewellyn Kane, Brody Wishart, Fergus Bear, Corey Walters  and Tori Ferguson.

The Lions roared in a 13-goal win in their den against Wandella.

Jacob Watson, Daniel Stewart, Dylan Collis and Simon Bunyan led the Lions’ charge.

Hay’s line-up jointly coached by Jason Aylett and James Moran includes Kenneth Jubb, Brad Pocock, Fergus and Jack Cattanach, and Tom McGufficke.

It’s fourth against fifth as Wandella hosts Moulamein.

The Justin Robinson-coached Wandella was outplayed by Hay.

Best for the Bombers were Archer Lancaster, Nathan Boysen, Tim Robinson and Darcy Ramage.

Wandella’s squad for this match includes Jarred Schlitz, Jonty Taylor, Tanner Treacy and Adam Ward.

A win for Moulamein would put the Swans on the fourth rung.

The Swans’ team to face the Bombers includes Xander Hartland, Morgan Turvey, Nathan Buckley and Mark Drotsky.
