Bombers tackle Kangaroos at Wandella

-By Nathan Dole

THE Wandella Bombers take on Ultima’s Kangaroos in this Saturday’s sixth round of senior footy in the Golden Rivers competition.

Wandella has home-ground advantage for the clash which starts at 2.25pm.

It’s also third against second in the Bombers’ hangar.

The Justin Robinson-coached Wandella won last Saturday’s home game against Moulamein by 49 points.

Best in Wandella’s third win of the season were Nathan Boysen, Archer Lancaster, John Cooper and Darcy Ramage.

The Bombers’ squad includes Adam Ward, Mitch Collins, Seth Hall, Tim Robinson, Jaspa Chamberlain and Laing Waddingham.

Ultima bound away to an 85-point win on Murrabit’s ground last round.

Key players for a Kangaroos’ line-up jointly coached by Mitch Seton-Stewart and Kyle Symons include Thomas Isma, Ryan Devereux, Ricky Wild, Thomas Bull, Caillum Brady and Matt Taverna.

Fourth on the ladder, Murrabit will be at home against a Macorna line-up yet to mark a victory this season.

Both teams are on the rebound from defeat to the league’s top two last round.

Murrabit played Ultima and Macorna was up against Hay.

The Jack Shannahan-coached Murrabit will look to Ben Gillingham, Jordan Lampi, Austin McKerrow, Bryden Morison, Matt Moon, Pras Sayakhot, Joseph and Michael Zambelli to lead the way to victory.

A Macorna line-up coached by Shaun Haffenden and Paul Longstaff includes Jackson Fry, Hunter Anset, Fergus Bear, Ryan Dee, Tori Ferguson and Connor Burge.

Other players to watch in the yellow and black are Matt Angel, Kurt Forder and Anthony Free.

It’s the Swans against the Lions as Moulamein hosts Hay.

The Jason Aylett and James Moran-coached Hay has dominated many quarters in its unbeaten run.

Moulamein is jointly coached by Brodie Tonkin and Hayden Dalitz.

A Swans’ defence which includes Mark Drotsky, Ely Miller, Will Gibson and Ethan Fitzpatrick will rely a lot on pressure further up the ground.

Big roles for Moulamein will also be played by ruckman Heath Moloney, rover Trae Atkinson, centreman Brodie Tonkin, and Brad Dunstone and Koby Stanley in attack.

Key players for the Lions include Jack Headon in attack, Fergus Cattanach, Dean Aylett, co-captains Jack Cattanach and Brad Pocock, Declan and Jacob Watson,
