Boort chases back-to-back wins at Wycheproof

AFTER breaking a long winless run, Boort will chase back-to-back wins at Wycheproof in this Saturday’s fourth round of the Goldacres North Central Football League’s senior footy action.

Boort played brilliantly to upset Donald by two points at Donald last Saturday.

The Andy Hawker-coached Magpies surged to a three-goal lead by half-time and withstood Donald’s fightback to win 58-56.

Key players in Boort’s victory were long-time Magpie Keirin Wilson, Alex Davies, Matt Chisari and Tom Potter.

The attack was led by Will Perryman on three goals as Braeden Deary and Cody Gunn chipped in with two.

Players to watch for Boort include Darcy Hawker, Brodie Leonard-Shannon, Ben Knight, Jesse Muscatello and Mitch Buchanan.

The Magpies have brought in Angus Trethowan for James Wilson.

Wycheproof Narraport will be fired up for this contest after a two-goal loss at St Arnaud.

Key players for Wycheproof Narraport include Boe and Jed Bish, Aaron Henneman, Trevor Rumbold, Lachlan Allison and Corey Jones.

The Demons added Zac Cruse, Kieran Murphy, Hadrian Prest and Sam Turner to the squad.

St Arnaud is at home again at Lord Nelson Park to take on the winless Charlton.

Tom Douglas and Angus Grant kicked five and three goals respectively in the Saints first win of the year and loom as major threats to the Navies.

Ins for the Saints are Jamie Craker, Tom Dyke, Lochlan Flanagan and Daniel Gifford.

Tom Bertalli, Bailey Durward, Luke Ezard and Jack Walker are out.

Other players to watch for St Arnaud include William Bertalli, Nic Birthisel, Harley Durward and Lachlan McQuilken.

Charlton worked hard to finish within 22 points of Wedderburn in last Saturday’s showdown on the Navies’ turf.

Rhys Thompson kicked four goals for Charlton and will again play a crucial role.

In-form players for the Navies include Riely Thiesz, Anthony Judd and Rhys Thompson.

The play of Aaron and Ben Walklate, Sam O’Connor Thomas  Finlay and Jordan Collins will be crucial to Charlton’s chances.

Tim Hill and Joe McGrath strengthen the side, along with Jack  Thompson.

Outs for Charlton are Kade Blow, Mason Heenan and Cameron White.

Wedderburn tackles Birchip Watchem at Donaldson Park.

The Redbacks have marked two wins and a draw to be second on the ladder.

Best in Wedderburn’s win at Charlton were Tom Campbell, Jordan Rosengren, Danny Benaim and Jordan Hargreaves.

A talented attack is led by Campbell, Isaac and Will Holt.

The Redbacks have brought in Mackenzie Smith for Louis Holt.

Other players to watch for Wedderburn include Hamish Winter-Irving, Jackson Guan and Ryan Butters.

Birchip Watchem is on the rebound from a loss to Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers on the Bulls’ patch at George Cartwright Oval.

Will Sheahan kicked five goals to be the Bulls’ best against the Tigers.

Stefan Pye, Dale Hinkley and Sam Simmons are also in form.

A talented line-up includes Jason Hinkley at centre half-forward, Chol Majok in the ruck, and Lachlan  Ryan.

The Bulls brought in Brenten Delaney and Luke Fowler for Ben Hogan and Ruben Vesikuru.

Reigning premier, Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers face Donald at Sea Lake.

A powerful Tigers line-up includes Kade, Joel, Trent and Wade Donnan, Matt Elliott, Ryan O’Sullivan and John Summerhayes.

Donald will be desperate to perform well against the unbeaten Tigers.

The play of Ross and Seamus Young, Daniel Pearce, Jordan Bath and Daniel Venditti will be crucial to the Royal Blues’ chances.

Donald has brought in Bryan Beckham, Brendan Goss, Rian McGough, Patrick Morgan and Jarred  Newell.
