RUNNER-UP in 2019, Birchip Watchem Bulls charged to a 56-point victory at Boort in Saturday’s second round of the Goldacres North Central Football League’s senior footy action.
The Boort Magpies worked hard to be within 19 points at half-time, but the Bulls broke clear in the final hour.
Birchip Watchem scored 8.7 to three goals in the second half to complete a 95-39 victory.
Daniel Castellano led the Bulls attack on five goals as Matt Berry added three.
Leading goalkickers for Boort were Braeden Deary and Cody Gunn on two each.
Best for Birchip Watchem were Jacob Christie, Ruben Vesikuru, Castellano and Stefan Pye.
Boort’s best were Matt Chisari, Jack Smith, Jesse Muscatello and Levi Roberts-Moss.
Reigning premier, Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers was too strong for Charlton.
The Tigers won 159-26 at Sea Lake.
The Tigers led 51-9 at half-time and then slammed on 12 goals in the third term.
A powerful attack was led by Billy McInnes, four goals; Wade Donnan, Matt Elliott, Dylan Hickey and Flynn McGarry on three apiece.
Anthony Judd kicked two goals for Charlton.
Best for Sea Lake Nandaly were Elliott, Wade Donnan, Trent Donnan and Kyle Brasser.
On a tough day for Charlton it was Thomas Finlay, Aaron Walklate, Judd and Jack Thompson who were best for the Navies.
After they drew in round one, Wedderburn and Donald marked their first wins.
Wedderburn beat St Arnaud, 90-31 at Donaldson Park in Wedderburn.
The Redbacks raced to a 33-nil by quarter-time.
Wedderburn led 48-4 by the long break, but the Saints won the third term, 15-6.
The Redbacks slammed on six goals in the last to complete an emphatic victory.
Will Holt booted a game-high five goals for the Redbacks as Jordan Rosengren was best afield.
The Saints’ attack was led by Thomas Douglas on two goals.
Mitch McEwen, Darcy Jackson and Corey Lowry played well for Wedderburn.
Best for St Arnaud were Jason Rogers, Thomas Douglas, Mitch Egan and Tom Bertalli.
Donald kicked clear in the final term to win on Wycheproof Narraport’s turf by 26 points.
The Royals were down 28-31 at half-time and 42-38 at a quarter to go.
Led by the play of James Coatsworth, Ryan Duncan, Trevor Rumbold and Dane McLennan, Donald slammed on 5.1 to a point in the last term.
Cody Brooks kicked three goals for Donald, and Lachlan Allison achieved the same feat for the Demons.

Highlight of next Saturday’s third round will be the showdown between 2019 grand finallists Birchip Watchem and Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers at George Cartwright Oval in Birchip.
Charlton hosts Wedderburn at Charlton Park, and Donald takes on Boort at Donald Recreation Reserve.
St Arnaud clashes with Wycheproof Narraport at Lord Nelson Park in St Arnaud.
