The AFL and AFL Victoria have confirmed that for all competitions statewide that commence on or after 22 February 2024, the Transfer Period during November 2023 will not apply. Transfers will open on 1 February 2024 and remain open until 30 June 2024.
The AFL and AFL Victoria state that delaying the opening of transfers helps to ensure that Clubs who are transitioning from Gameday to PlayHQ are prepared to process Transfer Requests and allows for migration of 2023 data from Gameday to PlayHQ to occur before Transfers open in February.
They added that feedback also indicates that many Clubs would prefer to delay the opening of transfers to provide their volunteers with a break from monitoring transfers.
