Colbinabbin’s run keeps rolling against Huntly

COLBINABBIN’S unbeaten run in A-grade netball kept rolling in Saturday’s round 17 clash with Huntly in the Bendigo Bank Heathcote DFNL season.

The Jen McIntyre-coached Colbinabbin had home-court advantage at M.J. Morgan Oval againt the Harlowe Huntly Hawks.

Unbeaten in its pursuit of a breakthrough premiership after being runner-up the previous two seasons, Colbinabbin again passed the 80-goal mark.

The green and gold won 81-40 against the brown and gold.

When they met in round eight Colbinabbin won on Huntly’s Strauch Reserve court by 33 goals.

The Ashlea Sherlock and Kym Bell-coached Huntly will be determined to rebuild confidence ahead of finals when it hosts Heathcote next Saturday.

Closest margin in Saturday’s play was at Gunbower where Leitchville Gunbower faced Elmore.

The Grant Matthews-coached LG Bombers kept the pressure on the Bloods.

At the final siren the Cayde Hayes and Hayley Langdon-coached Elmore led 59-44 in the team’s ninth victory of the season.

The Saints took on the Demons as Heathcote met White Hills at Pigeon Park in Heathcote’s Barrack Reserve.

The Elly Lawton-coached Winslow Constructors White Hills Demons raced to a 17-5 lead by quarter-time and was up 29-14 by the long break.

The Demons won the third, 17-4, and then closed out the match by winning the final term, 23-4.

At the final siren White Hills led 69-25 against the Anna Dundon-coached Saints.

Lockington Bamawm United could not halt North Bendigo’s charge to a 21-goal win at Lockington’s Nichol Trading Oval.

In the clash of the Cats and Bulldogs it was North Bendigo which won a closely-fought opening quarter, 10-7.

The Kiralee Kinder-coached North Bendigo seized control in the second.

As the team in red, white and blue poured in 15 goals it kept LBU to a tally of four goals.

North Bendigo’s lead of 14 goals at the long break was 13 going into the last term.

The Bulldogs won the final quarter, 17-9.

It was a 50-29 result for North Bendigo against the Kerryn Giorgianni and Shelby Stone-coached LBU.

Mount Pleasant had the bye.

The Demons take on the Cats as Winslow Constructors White Hills Demons play Lockington Bamawm United at Scott Street in White Hills.

North Bendigo will play Leitchville Gunbower at Bendigo Club Oval in North Bendigo’s Atkins Street.

Elmore has the bye.

The Avard Civil finals series starts on August 23 when qualifying finals will be played at Gunbower.

Elimination finals will be on August 24 at Bendigo Club Oval in North Bendigo’s Atkins Street.

Semi-final weekend will be on August 30 and 31.

Venues are to be confirmed, but it will be Huntly and Colbinabbin which host either a first or second semi.

Preliminary final day on September 6 will be at Elmore.

Grand finals on September 13 will be at Huntly’s Strauch Reserve.
