THE top four teams on the Goldacres North Central senior footy ladder all took the points in Saturday’s round 15 action.
In the second-last round of the home-and-away series, Sea Lake Nandaly marked a 65-point win against Wedderburn in Sea Lake.
The Tom Metherell-coached Wedderburn had to win to be any chance of taking fourth spot from Boort.
It was not to be for the Redbacks as the Tigers won every quarter.
Sea Lake Nandaly raced to a 32-8 lead by quarter-time and was up 65-21 at the long break.
As the yellow and black scored six goals in the second half it kept the red and black to just three majors.
Max Cahoon, Cruz O’Sullivan and John Summerhayes all kicked three goals in a 107-42 victory for the reigning premier.
Sea Lake Nandaly also had co-coach Bryce Delmenico and Adam Pattison slot two goals.
Wedderburn’s attack was led by Mitch Jensen and Mitch McEwen on two each.
Best for Sea Lake Nandaly were Adam Pattison, Trent and Kane Donnan, Cruz O’Sullivan, Wade Donnan and Jack Poulton.
The Tigers also have Billy McInnes as playing co-coach.
Wedderburn’s best were Jackson McEwen, Corey Lowry, Danny Benaim, Mitch McEwen, Isaac Holt and Noah Furlong.
Boort secured a top-four finish as the Magpies swooped for a 91-point win at St Arnaud’s Lord Nelson Park.
The Dale Cameron-coached Magpies flew out of the blocks to lead 47-nil at quarter-time.
A closely-fought second term went St Arnaud’s way, 27-22.
After half-time Boort added 11 goals as the Saints scored three.
By the final siren Boort led 143-52.
Jhye Baddeley-Kelly kicked seven goals in a best-on-ground performance for Boort.
The Magpies had Ethan Coleman slot four majors as Peter Barbopoulos, James Byrne, Lachlan Hall and Kayne Rutley added two each.
The Saints’ attack was led by Jake Male on two.
Boort’s best were Jhye Baddeley-Kelly, Lachlan Hall, Kayne Rutley, Matt Austin, Ethan Coleman and Tom Potter.
Daniel Gifford, Kurtis Torney, Owen Lowe, Jay Kirwood, Jackson Needs and Jake Male were best for the Scott Driscoll-coached Saints.
Charlton was kept to a goal by the unbeaten Birchip-Watchem at Charlton Park.
The Mitch Collins-coached Navies could not halt the charge by the impressive Bulls line-up.
Birchip-Watchem led 47-nil at quarter-time and 96-nil by the long break.
Charlton goaled through Bailey Kemp in the third term.
The Bulls kicked on for a 180-9 victory as Ben Edwards kicked 11 goals and Nicholas Rippon and Sam Simmons added three each.
The Bulls had George Addis and Jacob Christie kick two goals.
Best for the Ash Connick-coached Birchip-Watchem were Nicholas Rippon, Sam Simmons, Daniel Bell, Ben Edwards, Austin Dean and Tom Gibson.
Charlton’s best were Ben Lanyon, Jackson Zagame, Patrick Soulsby, Rhys and Jed Thompson, and Josh Harris.
A 10-goal haul by Jack Exell highlighted Calder United Lions big win on Donald’s turf.
The Lions raced to a 53-1 lead by quarter-time and was up 82-2 by the long break.
Calder United kept driving into attack and slammed on 10 goals in the third and 11 in the last.
Donald’s sole goal was kicked by Ben Arho in the fourth.
At the final siren the Lions led 218-10.
As Exell dominated in attack the Lions had Mitch Farmer and Steven Kennedy kick four goals each.
Other multiple goalkickers were Rick Allan and co-coach Jordan Humprheys, three; Koby Hommelhoff, Zane Keighran and Oscar Madden, two.
Best for Calder United were Koby Hommelhoff, Zane Keighran, Jack Exell, Steven Kennedy, Jordan Humphreys and George Turner.
The Lions have Darryl Wilson as non-playing co-coach.
Donald’s best were Ross Young, Ben Arho, Charlie Campbell, coach Daniel Pearce, Sam Arho and Harry Forrest.
