THE fierce rivalry between White Hills and Elmore on the netball court rolls on in this Saturday’s 11th round of A-grade matches in the Bendigo Bank Heathcote DFNL season.
The Winslow Constructors White Hills Demons will be on their court in Scott Street for another big test against the Bloods from 2.30pm.
When these clubs met in round two it was the Elly Lawton-coached White Hills which won 28-26 on Elmore’s court.
A win-loss record of seven-two has White Hills perched on the ladder’s second rung.
The Demons won their latest hit-out against Leitchville Gunbower in Gunbower by 10 goals.
Elmore’s drawn clash with North Bendigo has raised the pressure on the Bloods in their fight to hold fifth place.
It was 50-50 at the end of last Saturday’s match between Elmore and North Bendigo at Elmore Recreation Reserve.
The Bloods are a win clear of the sixth-placed North Bendigo.
The Kiralee Kinder-coached North Bendigo has the bye this round.
An Elmore line-up coached by Cayde Hayes, playing, and Hayley Langdon, non-playing, will be desperate to take the points in the Demons’ den.
Upcoming matches for Elmore include Huntly at home, Mount Pleasant at Toolleen, and then at home against Colbinabbin.
First of Saturday’s A-grade matches starts at 1pm when Colbinabbin plays Heathcote at Colbinabbin’s M.J. Morgan Oval.
The Jen McIntyre-coached Colbinabbin had the bye last round and rolls into this contest unbeaten in eight matches.
The Grasshoppers’ streak includes the 90-22 victory in round two on Heathcote’s court at Pigeon Park in Barrack Reserve.
For the Anna Dundon-coached Heathcote a goal will be trying to match the Grasshoppers for as long as possible in every quarter.
The Harlowe Huntly Hawks will be back on their court at Strauch Reserve to play Leitchville Gunbower from 2.30pm.
The Hawks fought on for a 59-55 win against Lockington Bamawm United at Huntly last round.
A Huntly team coached by Ashlea Sherlock and Kym Bell will be ready for a strong challenge from the LG Bombers.
The Grant Matthews-coached Bombers took it right up to White Hills in a 48-58 result last Saturday.
In round two the Hawks soared to a 21-goal win at Leitchville.
It’s the Blues against the Cats as Mount Pleasant faces Lockington Bamawm United in Saturday’s clash at Toolleen from 2.30pm.
The Anthea McCleary-coached Blues have worked hard to be in third place on 24 points.
The Blues start this round locked on the same tally of points as Huntly, but almost 20 per cent clear of the brown and gold.
Mounts won last Saturday’s match at Heathcote by 30 goals and will be confident of back-to-back victories.
Was a great effort by the Kerryn Giorgianni and Shelby Stone-coached LBU at Huntly last round.
The Cats will be keen to bring the same or raise its level of intensity against the Blues.
North Bendigo has the bye.
