Demons in hot form across many grounds

THE White Hills Demons were in hot form across the weekend’s 10th round of Bendigo Junior Football League action.

This season the Demons are fielding seven teams.

White Hills is leading the under-12C and under-15 Girls reserves ladders.

The Demons are second in the under-14 reserves division one, and division two competitions.

It was a closely-fought match between White Hills and Strathfieldsaye in the under-16 reserves, division one competition on Sunday.

Playing on home turf in Scott Street, White Hills raced to a 26-8 lead by quarter-time.

Storm surged back into the contest as it won the second quarter, 25-14, to be within seven points at the long break.

The Demons dominated most of term three as they added four goals and kept Strathfieldsaye to a point.

Momentum swung dramatically in the fourth quarter as Storm kicked four goals and the Demons added a point.

At the final siren White Hills led 67-59.

Demons’ captain Blaine Schelfhout led the attack on four goals as Charlie Dickins kicked two.

Other goalkickers for White Hills were Isaiah Cass, Roman Middleton, Tyson Turner and Logan Whittle.

Best for the Demons were Finn Parker, Jackson Mahood, Blaine Schelfhout, Bowden Murley, Ari Sawyer and Harry Morrish.

Round 10 kicked off with Friday night’s under-12 Girls match between White Hills and South Bendigo at Kennington’s Harry Trott Oval.

The Demons scored a 21-nil win against the Bloods.

Lola McGrath, Shay Pearce and Lilly Tresize were on target for White Hills.

Best for the Demons were Emmi Oswald, Sherri Stanley, Shay Pearce and Dakota Petersen.

White Hills held top spot on the under-12C ladder as it scored a 36-2 win against St Kilian’s-St Peter’s on Weeroona Oval.

Oliver Anfuso kicked two goals as Will Browne, Kayden Callanan and Thomas Parks were also on target for the red and black.

Best for White Hills were Will Browne, Max Clark, Oliver Anfuso, Jackson Boyd, Eli Kelson and Mitch Nurse.

The Demons played Golden Square in the under-12D match on the Bulldogs’ turf in Wade Street.

By half-time Golden Square led 17-9 and it then won the third quarter, 11-nil.

White Hills never gave up and scored two goals in the last as the Bulldogs claimed a 35-23 victory.

Goalkickers for the Demons were Kai Johnstone on two and Charlie Doherty.

The Demons’ best were Noah Robson, Kai Johnstone, Thomas Deason and Logan Brown.

It was a 101-point margin for White Hills Black against Golden Square in the under-14 reserves, division one match played at Scott Street in White Hills on Sunday.

The Demons charged to a 34-nil lead by quarter-time and then added five and six goals in the next two terms.

Although it faced a 100-plus deficit at the last change, Golden Square fought on to score four goals in the final term.

At the siren White Hills Black led 129-28.

Lon Schelfhout led the Demons’ attack on five goals as Roman Middleton kicked four.

Other multiple goalkickers were Darcy Mullen and Cooper Waegeli on two, as Preston Anfuso, Tasman Bell, Joseph Conlan, Ethan McDonnell, Jensen Sawyer and Harry Ward were also on target.

Best for White Hills were Oliver Clark, Tasman Bell, Harry Ward, Darcy Mullen, Xander Baerken and Ethan McDonnell.

White Hills Red dominated the under-14 reserves, division two match with Eaglehawk at Canterbury Park.

The red and black slammed on six goals in the first quarter.

After being held to a goal in the second, White Hills kicked nine goals in the third.

Noah Kalstrom kicked seven goals and Tobi Nichols chipped in with three as White Hills marked a 115-22 victory.

Other goalkickers for the red and black were captain Lucas Hunt, Knox Kane, Tamati McLarty, Ryland Morton, Harrison Riding and Arlow Smith.

Best for White Hills were Lucas Hunt, Tobi Nichols, Harrison Riding, Knox Kane and Arlow Smith.

White Hills kicked 10 goals in a big win against Marong B in the under-15 Girls reserves match played on Sunday at Scott Street in White Hills.

The Demons led 44-nil at half-time on their way to a 72-nil result.
