Demons outplay Blues at White Hills

-By Nathan Dole

THE Winslow Constructors White Hills Demons marked a 23-goal victory against Mount Pleasant in Saturday’s sixth round of A-grade netball in the Bendigo Bank Heathcote DFNL season.

White Hills had home-court advantage for the showdown with the Blues in Scott Street.

The Elly Lawton-coached Demons dominated a lot of the contest to win 53-30.

Despite the defeat the Anthea McCleary-coached Mount Pleasant holds second place on the ladder.

In another week of coaching change, Elmore took to the court with Cade Hayes and Hayley Langdon teaming up as playing and non-playing coach.

The pair took charge after Annie Hockey decided to step away as A-grade coach because of constraints on the time required for the role.

Elmore also made a spirited response from a 56-goal drubbing from Colbinabbin in the rematch of the ’24 grand finalists the previous round.

It was Anna Dundon’s second match as Heathcote’s A-grade coach after she stepped up from being netball operations manager following the resignation of Chloe Meulenmeeters.

On the court it was Elmore which teamed brilliantly in all thirds of the court to claim a 61-29 victory.

Colbinabbin showed it’s the team for this year’s premiership in another high-scoring hit-out at Bendigo Club Oval in North Bendigo’s Atkins Street.

The Jen McIntyre-coached Colbinabbin won 65-32.

The Grasshoppers were under pressure from the Kiralee Kinder-coached North Bendigo in the opening term.

Slick passing from mid-court to a powerful attack was again a feature of the play by the unbeaten team in green and gold.

Leitchville Gunbower has achieved back-to-back wins following a 14-goal triumph at Leitchville against Lockington Bamawm United.

The Grant Matthews-coached LG Bombers won 48-34 against the Cats who are jointly coached by Kerryn Giorgianni and Shelby Stone.

The Harlowe Huntly Hawks had the bye.
