Goalkickers in hot form across many matches

THERE were some big goalkicking hauls across Saturday’s seventh round in the Radio 3SH-backed Central Murray senior footy season.

Darcy Hourigan kicked eight goals as Mallee Eagles soared to a 133-22 win against Tyntynder at Lalbert.

The Eagles charged to a 59-nil lead by quarter-time and then added three, three and four goals across the next three quarters.

Hourigan kicked eight to be among the best as Andrew Mead-Harding added three goals and captain Zac O’Meara and Ethan Pinchen chipped in with two each.

Tyntynder’s attack was led by Elia Ware on two goals.

Best for the Eagles were Zac O’Meara, Tom McGregor, Brent Macleod, Darcy Hourigan, Toby Sheahan and Cameron Cook.

Josh Potter, Elliot Broad, Ben Hallam, Darcy Bibby, Patrick Crowe and Elia Ware were Tyntynder’s best.

The Eagles are jointly coached by Brent Macleod and Harry Allen.

This season it’s Darcy Bibby, Justin Ellis and Charlie Ford who are coaching the Bulldogs.

Kerang kicked away in the second half to score a 53-point win against Balranald at Kerang’s Riverside Park.

At half-time the Blues led the Kangaroos, 39-34.

Kerang won the third quarter, 27-9, and then scored 6.2 as it held the Roos to a tally of 1.2 in the final quarter.

Zak Bozanich capped a superb match with eight goals in the 104-51 victory.

Balranald’s attack was led by Tanner Coulthard and Cody Henness on two.

Best for the Paul Grayling-coached Kerang were Zak Bozanich, Jordan McNeil, Scott Pay, Cooper Meehan, Tyson Clingan and Flynn McKnight.

Jack Salau, Cody Henness, Ryan Middlebrook, Daniel Harris, Tanner Coulthard and Tim Marsh played well for Balranald.

The Kangaroos are jointly coached by Ben Fuller, Ben Mahon and Jack Salau.

A gun on-baller or midfielder for most of his career, Joel Helman kicked six goals as Cohuna Kangas won at Lake Boga by 110 points.

The Jack Geary-coached Cohuna charged to a 39-6 lead by quarter-time at Lake Boga Sports Club and led 65-21 by the long break.

Defences were on top in a third quarter which the Kangas won, 17-1.

Cohuna then powered away to score 8.3 as it kept the Magpies to a behind in the final term.

Joel Helman finished with six goals as Corbin Anderson booted five.

Other multiple goalkickers for the Kangas were Jude Palmer and Tom Toma on two.

Lake Boga’s attack was led by Nathaniel Holmes-Brown with two majors.

Best for Cohuna were Tom Toma, Joel Helman, Chris Anderson, Daniel Coates, Ricky Monti and Jarrod Findlay.

Braden Padmore, Rex Hickman, Kadek Irvan, Xavier Sherlock, Andrew McDonald and Nelson Ibbs played well for the Dean Helmers-coached Magpies.

The ladder-leading Woorinen won every quarter in a 143-59 victory against Tooleybuc Manangatang at Tooleybuc.

The Tim Free-coached Tigers led 25-12 at quarter-time and 60-20 by the main break.

Woorinen upped its intensity and run to score seven goals as it kept the Saints to just two majors in the third term.

Doug Beames, Will Collicoat and Matt Perry all kicked four goals as Jose Miliado chipped in with three.

The Saints’ attack was led by Joel Munnich and Isaac Franks on three and two goals.

Best for the yellow and black were Jye Barry, Matt Gardner, Taylor Cameron, Henry Thompson, Doug Beames and Will Collicoat.

Joel Munnich, Ethan Johnstone, Josh Williams, Rydar Morris, Elliot Chalmers and Connor McDonald were best for the Brad Morris-coached Saints.

Koondrook Barham marked a 20-goal win against Swan Hill in the Swans’ nest.

The Marcus Demaria-coached Koondrook Barham charged to a 44-9 lead by quarter-time and then scored another six goals as it kept the Swans to a major in the second.

A 67-point lead at half-time was 93 at a quarter to play.

Kye Attwell went on to finish with six goals as Patrick Goble booted four in a 166-46 victory.

Other multiple goalkickers for the River Raiders were Isaac Corvo and Warren Lolicato on three as Lachlan Laursen chipped in with two.

There was no multiple goalkicker for the Swans.

Best for Koondrook Barham were Benji Neal, Kye Attwell, Patrick Goble, Isaac Corvo, Jack Thomas and Jack Shannon.

Tom Holdstock, Cooper Angus, Perry Roberts, Jamie Church, Thomas Corridan and Will Simpson were best for the Michael Herlihy-coached Swans.

Nyah Nyah West United had the bye.

Highlight of next Saturday’s eighth round will be Nyah Nyah West United against Mallee Eagles from 2.30pm at Nyah Recreation Reserve.

Woorinen will be on home turf against Swan Hill.

Cohuna hosts Tooleybuc Manangatang.

Balranald and Lake Boga clash at Balranald’s Greenham Park.

Tyntynder takes on Kerang at Swan Hill’s Alan Garden Reserve.

Koondrook Barham has the bye.
