ELMORE and Colbinabbin renew their great rivalry in A-grade netball when they meet in Saturday’s round 14 clash in the Bendigo Bank Heathcote DFNL season.
It’s home-court advantage for Elmore when its match against the unbeaten Grasshoppers starts at 2.30pm.
When these clubs met in round five the Jen McIntyre-coached Colbinabbin dominated play to win 76-20 at M.J. Morgan Oval.
An Elmore team jointly coached by Cayde Hayes, playing, and Hayley Langdon, non-playing, faces a huge challenge on Saturday.
The Bloods are on the rebound from a 62-28 loss to Mount Pleasant at Toolleen.
As Elmore was outplayed on the Blues’ court, Colbinabbin poured in 98 goals at home against Leitchville Gunbower.
First of Saturday’s A-grade matches will start at 1pm when Leitchville Gunbower takes on Heathcote at Gunbower.
The Grant Matthews-coached Bombers beat the Saints by 28 goals at Pigeon Park in Heathcote’s Barrack Reserve in round five.
It’s seventh against ninth in this match.
The Anna Dundon-coached Saints are on the rebound from a 60-40 loss at home to Lockington Bamawm United.
North Bendigo faces a red-hot Mount Pleasant at Bendigo Club Oval in North Bendigo’s Atkins Street from 2.30pm.
The Kiralee Kinder-coached North Bendigo rolls into this round in sixth place and two wins behind Elmore.
Although it has home-court advantage, North Bendigo will have to play a consistent four quarters against the second-placed Blues.
As the Bulldogs were beaten in last Saturday’s match at Huntly by five goals the Blues dominated their showdown with Elmore.
The Anthea McCleary-coached Mount Pleasant defeated the red, white and blue by 18 goals in round five and will be confident of taking the points again.
Third meets fourth as the Winslow Constructors White Hills Demons host the Harlowe Huntly Hawks in the Scott Street den from 2.30pm.
In round five the Demons won on Huntly’s court in Strauch Reserve by five goals.
The Elly Lawton-coached White Hills had the bye last Saturday as Huntly fought on to defeat North Bendigo.
Victory for the Ashlea Sherlock and Kym Bell-coached Hawks would put them level with the Demons on 36 premiership points.
After a breakthrough win at Heathcote last Saturday it’s a bye for the Kerryn Giorgianni and Shelby Stone-coached Lockington Bamawm United.
