Swans eye chance to climb ladder
MOULAMEIN has a great chance to climb from the bottom rung on the ladder in Saturday’s 15th round in the Golden Rivers senior footy season.
After a seven-point win at Macorna last round, Moulamein heads to Murrabit this Saturday.
It’s the clash between fifth and sixth from 2.25pm.
Murrabit has a 3-11 record and scored a seven-point win against the Swans in the 10th round.
Best for Murrabit in last week’s loss at Wandella were Patrick Bryan, Jordan Lampi, Dean Harrop and Sam Copland.
Key players for Moulamein include Kaylem Hartley, Ely Miller, Heath Moloney, Will Gibson, Cody Storm and Rodney Reeves.
Wandella is up against a Hay line-up on the rebound from its first defeat in ’24.
Huge challenge for the Bombers against the reigning premier.
When these clubs met in round 10 it was the Lions who roared in a 76-point victory.
Third in the premiership race, Wandella will be determined to put in a confidence-lifting performance rolling into a first semi-final on August 25.
The Bombers’ line-up for Saturday includes Logan Keighran, Justin and Tim Robinson, Adam Ward, Darren Rushton, Michael Rowe, Tanner Treacy and Adam McKenzie.
A talented line-up from Hay includes Brad Pocock, Declan and Jacob Watson, Jack Cattanach, Will Collis, Jensen Hargreaves and Daniel Zambon.
Ultima is on home turf to tackle Macorna.
The Kangaroos played brilliant football to beat Hay by four goals last round.
In round 10, Macorna scored just the one goal on Ultima’s turf.
Players to watch for the Kangaroos include Ryan Devereux, Thomas Bull, Matt Taverna, Jye Purtill, Mitch Makepeace, Ryan Featherby and Jayden Kiel.
Best for Macorna in last week’s clash with Moulamein were Will Canham, Malcolm Neiwand, Oscar Don and Michael Roberts.
