HAY will be striving to prove its previous win against Ultima was no fluke when it tackles the Kangaroos in Saturday’s 16th round of the Golden River FNL senior footy action.
Ultima has home-ground advantage as first takes on third.
When these clubs met in round 11 it was the Hay Lions who roared loudest in an 83-62 result.
The Lions go into this contest following last Saturday’s eight-goal win against Macorna.
Hay’s attack is led by Declan Watson and Jensen Hargreaves.
The Lions named Dom Booth in the centre, co-captains Kenneth Jubb and Brad Pocock at centre half-forward and on a back flank.
Big test for Hay ruckman James Moran and on-ballers Fergus Cattanach and Will Clark.
Ultima won its latest hit-out at Murrabit by 95 points as Bailey Codling kicked four goals and Ryan Devereux added three.
Best in the Roos’ 14th win of the season included Martyn Cooper and Corey Grey.
Ultima’s team to tackle the Lions includes Caillum Brady, Darcy Farrell, Ed Kuchel, Mitch and Tyler Makepeace, and Aydan and Kyle Symons.
Murrabit hosts Moulamein.
When they met in round 11 it was the Swans who scored a 15-goal win against the Blues at Moulamein.
Murrabit will be determined to lift its scoring output after a tally of 29 against Ultima last round.
The Blues’ attack is led by former Brisbane Lions and Essendon forward Damian Cupido.
Key players for Murrabit include Jono Aujard, Tobie Cameron, Michael Grant and captain Nathan O’Toole.
The Blues will also look for big games from the likes of Ed Aujard, Dustin Blake, and Cooper Williams.
Moulamein won last Saturday’s clash with Wandella by 43 points as Amos Farrell, James White, Rodney Reeves and Lachie Martin led the way.
The Swans’ line-up bound for Murrabit includes Blake Azzopardi, Anthony Daw, Josh Flight, and captain Heath Moloney.
Wandella and Macorna meet in the clash of the Bombers and Tigers at Wandella Recreation Reserve.
It was a dramatic finish to their previous meeting as the Tigers clawed their way to a 42-38 victory at Macorna.
Best for Wandella in last week’s clash at Moulamein were Adam Ward, Russell Rich, Tim Robinson and Austin Crellin.
The Bombers’ team for this round includes Ricky Cathie, Austin and Jayden Crellin, Jack Danckert, and Archer Lancaster.
Macorna’s line-up includes Shaun Haffenden in the centre, Lachlan Ritchie and Josh Cameron in attack, and Malcolm Neiwand and Toby Whinfield on the half-back line.
The Tigers will also look for plenty of chances to be created by on-ballers Hunter Anset and Ethan Stone.
