MACORNA marked a great win on Moulamein’s court in Saturday’s sixth round of A-grade netball in the Golden Rivers FNL season.
The Tigers were down 7-12 at quarter-time and 20-24 by the long break.
In the third quarter it was Macorna which dominated most minutes to turn a four-goal deficit into a three-goal lead at a quarter to go.
Amelia Brock, aka Milly, teamed with Asela Finch to score 36 and 12 goals as Macorna claimed a 48-44 victory.
Goalscorers for Moulamein were Meg-Jordyne Rooney, 28; and Ellie Henery, 16.
Scores were locked at 37-all when the siren sounded to end the Wandella and Ultima match.
It was the Kangaroos who led 12-7 at quarter-time and 21-15 by half-time at Wandella.
Ultima’s lead was 11 going into the final term.
The Bombers unleashed a goalscoring blitz in the last.
As Wandella poured in 14 goals it also upped its defensive play to limit Ultima to just five goals.
The B-grade match at Wandella ended in a 28-all draw between the Bombers and Kangaroos.
In A-grade action, Hay was outplayed by Murrabit on Hay’s court.
The Blues led 24-8 at quarter-time and 40-18 by the long break.
Grace Gillingham went on to score a match-high 35 goals as Montana Keating, 33; and Lauren Morrow, nine; played their part in a 77-35 victory.
Hay’s attack was led by Ellen Jamieson with 28 goals.
