NORTH Bendigo marked a two-goal win against Heathcote in Saturday’s 17th round of A-grade netball in the Bendigo Bank Heathcote DFNL season.
Now being coached by Imogen Davies and Kiralee Kinder, North Bendigo had to win on Heathcote’s court to stay a chance of qualifying for the finals.
It was goal-for-goal for a lot of the match at Pigeon Park in Heathcote’s Barrack Reserve.
At the final whistle North Bendigo led 50-48.
The Saints and Bulldogs are now locked on win-loss records of 7-8 going into next Saturday’s final round of the home and away series.
The fourth-placed Heathcote will play the Harlowe Huntly Hawks at Huntly’s Strauch Reserve.
North Bendigo has climbed to the fifth rung at the expense of Mount Pleasant which had the bye.
The Bulldogs will be on their court at Hibo Hotel Oval in Atkins Street to play the unbeaten Elmore next Saturday.
Mount Pleasant faces Lockington Bamawm United on the Blues’ court.
Results in last Saturday’s three other A-grade fixtures went as expected.
Colbinabbin scored a 75-37 win against Leitchville Gunbower at Gunbower.
It was the final match of the season for the Gemma Angove-coached Bombers.
White Hills dominated most of the clash with Huntly on the Demons’ court at Winslow Constructors Oval in Scott Street to claim a 69-34 victory.
Elmore’s mid-court and attack was in hot form as the Bloods won 93-34 at home against Lockington Bamawm United.
Mount Pleasant had the bye.
