Blues outplay North Bendigo
MOUNT Pleasant outplayed North Bendigo in Saturday’s seventh round of A-grade netball action in the Bendigo Bank Heathcote DFNL season.
The Anthea McCleary-coached Mount Pleasant took to North Bendigo’s court at Bendigo Club Oval in Atkins Street determined to improve on a 1-4 record.
North Bendigo was equally keen to build on the momentum from its first win of ’24 at Huntly’s Strauch Reserve the previous round.
It was the Blues who teamed superbly against the Kiralee Kinder and Stacey Kingdon-coached North Bendigo to record a 43-31 victory.
Results in other A-grade matches went as expected.
Unbeaten as it chases back-to-back premierships, Winslow White Hills Demons won a closely-fought contest against Leitchville Gunbower.
The Lauren Bowles-coached Demons won 48-40 against the LG Bombers team coached by Caitlin Hamilton.
Elmore marked a 22-goal win against Harlowe Huntly Hawks.
A Bloods team jointly coached by Allira Holmes and Gabe Richards struck back after a big loss the previous round at Winslow Constructors Oval in White Hills.
At the siren to end Saturday’s match, Elmore led 52-30 against the Kym Bell-coached Huntly.
Colbinabbin dominated its clash at home at M.J. Morgan Oval against Lockington Bamawm United.
The Jen McIntyre-coached Grasshoppers almost hit the 80-goal mark.
At the final siren, Colbinabbin led 77-34 against the Ash Cullen-coached LBU Cats.
Heathcote had the bye.

Mount Pleasant faces a big test against Elmore at Toolleen.
The Harlowe Huntly Hawks will be on their court at Strauch Reserve to play Leitchville Gunbower.
