INGLEWOOD faces a huge test against Pyramid Hill in Saturday’s 15th round of Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL senior footy.
The Blues will be on their turf at Inglewood’s Centre State Scaffolding Oval to tackle the Bulldogs from 2.15pm.
It’s fifth against third as Inglewood confronts an opponent on the rebound from defeat.
The Fergus Payne-coached Blues start this round just two points clear of sixth-placed Maiden Gully YCW Eagles.
Back in round six Pyramid Hill beat Inglewood by 62 points.
The Blues won last Saturday’s match at Mitiamo by 65 points as Pyramid Hill was outgunned at Bridgewater by 56 points.
In-form players for the Blues include Kai Cavallaro, Seb Erharter and Lachlan Ford.
Inglewood’s squad for Saturday’s match includes Nathan Agnelino, Tom Kennedy, Jackson Hood, Cody Stobaus and Bregon Cotchett.
The Nathan Fitzpatrick-coached Pyramid Hill has plenty of atacking power.
Targets in the forward 50m arc for the Bulldogs include Ben Bisset, Ryan Semmel and Archie Hildebrandt.
Pyramid Hill has the experience of Gavin James, Brad Ladson, Ben Knight, Bailey George and Lachlan Sidebottom.
Another big match will be at Gadsden Finance Serpentine Reserve where Bears –Lagoon Serpentine takes on Maiden Gully YCW Eagles.
The Jake Wilkinson-coached Bears scored a 10-goal win at Maiden Gully’s Marist College Oval in round six.
The Bears played brilliant football to mark a 79-67 win against Marong last round.
Nash Kemp, Tyler Miles, Zach Stone and Nathan Twigg were best for the Bears.
The BLS squad includes Jaxon Addlem, Orion Downing, Harry Gadsden, Justin Laird, Josh Mellington and Ross Turner.
Maiden Gully YCW Eagles had the bye last Saturday after a 17-point win against Mitiamo in the 13th round.
The Eagles’ line-up to tackle the Bears includes captain Josh Worsley, co-coach Angus Monfries, Daniel Russell, Todd Delahey, Ed Crisp, Stacy Fiske, Nathan Murley and Mitch Whitham.
The Eagles who have Shawn Filo as non-playing co-coach roll into this round on a win-loss tally of five-six and a draw.
Newbridge will be back on its turf at Deepcore Drilling Riverside Oval to play Mitiamo.
Just nine points separated the Maroons and Superoos as Newbridge won at John Forbes Oval in round six.
Key match-ups this time include Newbridge forwards Billy Schilling, Brandon Dimech and Chris Dixon against Jayden Matthews, Bryce Laird and Jack Daglish.
On-ballers for the Matt McArthur-coached Newbridge will be Will Copland, Jed Zimmer and Thomas Hobson.
Mitiamo’s on-ball group is captain Ryan Duncan, Matt Gilmour and Zak Myers.
The Maroons’ defence led by Andrew Padbury, Dylan Lloyd and Liam Nihill takes on Seth Wright, Kobe Galvin and Andrew Cussen.
A third victory for the Luke Lougoon-coached Mitiamo would match Newbridge’s tally.
Calivil United faces a daunting task against the in-form Bridgewater.
The Demons have home-ground advantage at Calivil against the Mean Machine which has rolled Marong and Pyramid Hill in consecutive weeks.
Limiting the amount of supply to Bridgewater’s attack will be a key focus for the Sam Maher-coached Calivil United.
Key players for the Demons include Sam Green, Riley Walsh and Rhys Lourie in defence, Henry McCarthy, Brodie Wagner and Anthony Dennis.
