CALDER United Lions marked a 40-point victory against Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers in Saturday’s round nine showdown in Goldacres North Central senior footy action.
The Lions charged to a 30-13 lead by quarter-time at Sea Lake and then won the second term, 22-14.
A 25-point buffer for Calder United at the long break became four goals at a quarter to go.
Inspired by the play of Dale Pearce, Oscar Madden and Jack Marlais the Lions scored another four goals in the final quarter to complete an 85-45 victory.
A seven-goal haul by Pearce in his first match for the Lions clinched best on ground honours.
This season Pearce is playing for Central District in the South Australia National Football League.
Other multiple goalkickers for Calder United against the Tigers were Jack Exell and Cody Green on two.
There were no multiple goalkickers for Sea Lake Nandaly.
Best for the Lions included Steven Kennedy, Zach Caccaviello and Koby Hommelhoff.
A United team jointly coached by Darryl Wilson, non-playing, and Jordan Humphreys, playing, has a win-loss record of seven-two and is second on the ladder.
Best for Sea Lake Nandaly were Wade Donnan, Adam Pattison, Trent Donnan, Billy Poulton, Tyson McKenzie and Cruz O’Sullivan.
A Tigers line-up jointly coached by Bryce Delmenico and Billy McInnes has dropped out of the top three.
Margins in the league’s three other matches were 90-plus.
Boort marked a 92-point victory at Charlton Park.
Jhye Baddeley-Kelly kicked eight goals to be among Boort’s best in the 127-35 victory.
The Dale Cameron-coached Magpies charged to a 40-7 lead by quarter-time.
Boort then scored four, three and seven goals across the next three quarters.
As Baddeley-Kelly was the focal point in attack the black and white also had Tom Potter chip in with two goals as 10 team-mates were also on target.
Charlton coach Mitch Collins kicked two goals.
Best for Boort were Jayden Dick, Jhye Baddeley-Kelly, Lachlan Hall, Ryan McGhie, Carlos Egan and Kayne Rutley.
Charlton’s best were Ben Xiriha, Patrick Soulsby, Rhys and Jed Thompson, Aaron Schofield and Dan Whykes.
The unbeaten Birchip-Watchem won on Donald’s turf by 104 points.
Gun forward Ben Edwards kicked eight goals as the Bulls charged to a 130-26 victory.
Other multiple goalkickers for the unbeaten ladder leaders were Rhona Condoy and Nicholas Rippon with three, and Jacob Christie on two.
Four players goaled for the Royals.
Best for the Ash Connnick-coached Bulls were Nicholas Rippon, Austin Dean, Ben Lakin, Meyrick Buchanan, Daniel Bell and Rhona Conboy.
Thomas Reekie, Ross Young, Jett Adams, coach Daniel Pearce, Robert Walker and Josh Talty were Donald’s best.
Wedderburn passed the 150-point mark in its win at St Arnaud’s Lord Nelson Park.
The Redbacks unleashed a first quarter blitz in which they scored 6.6 to nil.
The second term was more closely-fought as Wedderburn added 5.4 and the Saints booted two goals.
The Tom Metherell-coached Wedderburn then slammed on eight goals to hold a 100-point lead going into the final quarter.
The last went the way of the red and black, 27-16.
Mitch Jensen kicked six goals in the 154-43 result.
Other multiple goalkickers for the Redbacks were Oscar Holt and Mitch McEwen on three, and Jye Mortlock and Mackenzie Smith on two.
St Arnaud’s attack was led by Bailey Nicholas on two.
Best for Wedderburn were Joe Lockhart, Jackson McEwen, Mitch Jensen, Noah Furlong, Hamish Lockhart and Darcy Jackson.
Brad Organ, Kurtis Torney, Max Hungerford, Thomas Bertalli, Matthew Goode and Mitch Birthisel worked hard for the Scott Driscoll-coached Saints.

The clash of the Bulls and Tigers will start at 2.30pm.
Boort tackles Donald at Boort Park.
St Arnaud will face Charlton on the Saints’ turf at Lord Nelson Park.
Wedderburn has a big task against Calder United Lions at Wedderburn’s Donaldson Park.
