Top spot up for grabs at Pyramid Hill

LADDER-LEADING teams Mitiamo and Pyramid Hill meet in this Saturday’s 14th round of A-grade netball action in the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL season.

Second takes on first on Pyramid Hill’s court at Mitchell Park.

It will be Mitiamo which retains top spot and moves four points clear in the race to be number one at the end of the home and away series.

Should Pyramid Hill beat the Superoos once again then the red, white and blue grabs the top rung on the ladder.

When these teams met in round five it was the Chelsea Emmerson-coached Pyramid Hill which scored a 54-49 victory on Mitiamo’s court at John Forbes Oval.

The Bulldogs and Superoos marked emphatic wins last round.

Pyramid Hill won 53-31 on Bridgewater’s court.

The Jen Wilson-coached Mitiamo marked a 52-goal win at home against Calivil United.

Another important match will be at Gadsden Finance Serpentine Reserve where Bears-Lagoon Serpentine faces Bridgewater.

This could be an elimination final preview as the fifth-placed Bears take on the fourth-placed Mean Machine.

When they met in round five the Caz Wood and Olivia Collicoat-coached Bridgewater marked an 11-goal win at home against the Bears.

The Danielle O’Toole-coached Bears gained a confidence-lifting 69-38 win against Marong last round.

Marong will be back at East West Oval in Marong’s Malone Park this Saturday to play Calivil United.

The Robyn Cunnington-coached Marong is not completely out of qualifying for finals, but must beat the Demons.

In round five Marong scored an 18-goal win against the Haylee Fawcett-coached Demons at Calivil.

Refreshed by the bye, Maiden Gully YCW makes its way to Inglewood’s Centre State Scaffolding Oval for the clash of the Eagles and Blues.

The Adam Boldiston-coached Eagles will start favourite to mark an away victory.

Maiden Gully YCW defeated the Abbey Hayes-coached Inglewood by 17 goals in round five at Marist College Bendigo Oval.

Newbridge has the bye.
