GAME 200 for Maiden Gully YCW Eagles’ star Christie Griffiths was capped by a big win in Saturday’s third round of A-grade netball action in the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley Football Netball League.
Among the highs in the match between the Eagles and Mitiamo at Marist College Bendigo was Christie teaming up with daughter, Skye in mid-court in the final term.
In the rematch of last year’s grand finalists, Maiden Gully YCW was able to complete some four or five goals surges in the first half.
The play of Christie Griffiths to force several turnovers in mid-court was outstanding as the Adam Boldiston-coached Eagles went on to win 70-51.
Pyramid Hill was too strong on its court at Mitchell Park for Bears-Lagoon Serpentine.
The team in red, white and blue made it two wins from as many starts after a 53-39 victory.
Bridgewater chalked up its first win of the season.
After facing Mitiamo and Maiden Gully YCW in the opening two rounds, Bridgewater made the trek to Inglewood’s Dissy Machinery Oval.
The Mean Machine won 43-33.
Marong snapped Newbridge’s winning run.
The Sue Borserio-coached Panthers took control in the second quarter and went on to claim a 67-32 win at Marong’s Malone Park.
Calivil United had the bye.
