Pyramid Hill outpoints Superoos at Mitiamo

PYRAMID Hill moved two wins clear at top of the A-grade netball ladder after Saturday’s round five clash at Mitiamo in the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL season.

The Bulldogs kept their unbeaten record intact as they marked a 54-49 victory on Mitiamo’s court at John Forbes Oval.

It was another outstanding performance by the Chelsea Emmerson-coached team in red, white and blue.

Pyramid Hill’s unbeaten streak began with a 15-goal win at Gadsden Finance Serpentine Reserve and was followed by a 39-goal win against Calivil United.

In round three the Bulldogs netted a 20-goal triumph at Marong, and then a 14-goal win against Bridgewater.

The Jen Wilson-coached Mitiamo is now on a three-one record.

The Superoos will aim to bounce back when they play at Inglewood’s Centre State Scaffolding Oval next Saturday.

Bridgewater was too strong at home for Bears-Lagoon Serpentine.

The Mean Machine and Bears were locked on two wins going into the contest.

A Bridgewater line-up jointly coached by Caz Wood and Olivia Collicoat won 45-34.

For the Danielle O’Toole-coached Bears the season sequence is L, W, L, W, L.

Bears-Lagoon Serpentine is home to face Calivil United in the sixth round.

Maiden Gully YCW Eagles kept in touch with the top five by scoring a 17-goal win against Inglewood.

The Adam Boldiston-coached Eagles were back on their court at Marist College Oval to face the Blues.

By the final whistle, Maiden Gully YCW led 52-35 against the Abbey Hayes-coached Inglewood.

The Eagles make their way to Walker’s Doughnuts Riverside Oval to play the third-placed Newbridge next Saturday.

Marong marked its second win of the season.

The Robyn Cunnington-coached Panthers played well in all thirds of the court to score a 46-28 win against the Demons.

Big test for Marong next round on its court at Malone Park against Bridgewater.

The Haylee Fawcett-coached Calivil United will play at Serpentine.

After a bye, Newbridge is back on court at Riverside Park to face Maiden Gully YCW.

Pyramid Hill has the bye in round six.
