MARYBOROUGH was in great form across three age groups in the weekend’s start to the Bendigo Bank Bendigo Junior Football League’s premiership season for under-12, under-14 and under-16 age groups.
The Magpies’ scored 16 goals in the under-16 reserves one match against Golden Square at Princes Park.
Jack Skinner kicked five goals and Joe Lovel booted four in the 114-8 result.
Maryborough’s best were Ronnie Feeney, Khoa Do, Kaian Constable, Jack Skinner, Joe Lovel and Jake Gavriliadis.
It was a closely-fought under-14 seniors match between Maryborough and Sandhurst at Princes Park.
The Dragons won 31-27.
Archie Chadwick kicked two goals and was Maryborough’s best player along with Campbell Wood, Liam Clark, Thomas Ross, Miller Bartlett and Billy Skinner.
It was Magpies against Hawks as Maryborough played Eaglehawk in the under-12B match at Princes Park.
The Hawks won 8.4 (52) to 3.2 (20).
Goalkickers for Maryborough were Ed Boyes, Jayden Humphrey and Cruz Stevens.
The Magpies’ best were Chase Larkin, Ed Boys, Cruz Stevens, Hayden Bartlett, Coltyn Brydon and Jack Mason.
In the fifth round of the under-18 girls’ premiership season, White Hills scored a 31-30 win against Eaglehawk
Strathfieldsaye defeated Golden Square, 35-10; and Woorinen had the bye.
One point was the final margin in the under-16 girls’ match between Kyneton and Strathfieldsaye at Kyneton Showgrounds.
The Strathfieldsaye Storm line-up won 30-29, as Kangaroo Flat scored an eight-goal win against Castlemaine at Wesley Hill.
