Recently the AFL Central Victoria Commission appointed a Player Payment Disciplinary Committee to hear charges laid against a club participating in the region, under section 9(a) of the Player Payment Rule. This followed the Commission reviewing a report prepared by an accredited AFL Victoria Integrity Officer.
The Player Payment Disciplinary Committee found the Lake Boga Football Netball Club (competing in the Central Murray Football Netball League) guilty of multiple breaches of the Player Payment Rules in the 2022 season.
The Player Payment Disciplinary Committee sanctioned Lake Boga FNC with a suspended fine and has requested that an AFL Victoria Integrity Officer will complete a review of Lake Boga FNC’s Player Payments for both the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
The Integrity Officer’s reports stated that Lake Boga FNC and its officials were co-operative, transparent and open during the reviews. It was also noted that the multiple errors were deemed to be of an administrative nature, and not intended to conceal Player Payments.
