A NEW-LOOK South Bendigo starts it’s campaign in this Saturday’s second round of the Bendigo Bank Football Netball League’s A-grade netball action.
The Bloods take on Eaglehawk at Queen Elizabeth Oval.
After a bye in round one, South Bendigo will be keen to perform well at home against the Hawks.
These clubs last met in the 2019 elimination final.
On that occasion, Eaglehawk won 45-33.
Both teams have changed dramatically since then.
The Janelle Hobbs-coached South Bendigo has welcomed Abbey Grindal, mid-courter Keiarah Brooks, Hayley Harrington, Amber Hollis, Sarah Nash and Ella Turnbull to the squad.
South’s attack will be led by Chloe Langley, the BFNL’s Rising Star of two seasons ago, and Grindal.
Eaglehawk is on the rebound from a 41-goal loss to Kangaroo Flat under the Canterbury Park lights.
The South Bendigo and Eaglehawk clash starts at 2.30pm.
After a promising start at Kyneton last Saturday, Golden Square faces Gisborne at Fur Life Vet Oval in Wade Street.
Winless in 2019, Golden Square played well to be within seven goals of Kyneton when the final whistle sounded last Saturday at the Showgrounds.
A talented Gisborne line-up started the season in style.
The red, white and blue scored a 20-goal win against Strathfieldsaye at Gardiner Reserve.
The A-grade contest at Golden Square starts at 3.20pm.
Kangaroo Flat showed it’s a force to be reckoned with in round one.
The Roos are at home to play Kyneton from 3.20pm on Saturday at Bendigo Mazda Oval in Dower Park.
Maryborough takes on Castlemaine in the lower grades at Barkers Oval in Maryborough’s Princes Park.
Strathfieldsaye met Sandhurst in a stand-alone match moved forward to Good Friday.
The Sandhurst line-up won 58-34 on Storm’s court at Triple M Park in Tannery Lane.
