River Raiders outrun the Saints

KOONDROOK Barham strengthened its place in the top five as it beat Tooleybuc Manangatang in Saturday’s sixth round of senior footy in the Radio 3SH-backed Central Murray league.

The River Raiders were on their turf at Barham against the Saints.

At half-time Koondrook Barham led 36-19.

The Raiders won the third, 21-9, and then withstood a spirited fightback from the Saints who scored 5.2 in the final term.

At the siren the Marcus Demaria-coached Koondrook Barham led 75-60.

Kye Attwell, Patrick Goble and Cameron Moore led the KB attack on two goals each.

For Tooleybuc Manantang it was Seb Rogers who kicked a match-high three goals.

Best for Koondrook Barham were Jacob Barrington, Patrick Goble, Ethan Reeves, Nick Frankling, Jack Shannon and Lachlan Bates.

Seb Rogers, Connor Mcdonald, Rydar Morris, John Wardle, Josh Williams and Blake Grant played well for the Brad Morris-coached Saints.

Nyah Nyah West United moved into the top five after a 25-point win against Tyntynder at Swan Hill’s Alan Garden Reserve.

The NNWU Demons led 31-21 at half-time and then won the vital third quarter, 27-12.

Both teams scored eight points in the last as the reigning led 66-41 at the final siren.

Tristan Dalbon kicked three goals for Nyah Nyah West United.

Tyntynder’s attack was led by Charlie Ford and Elia Ware on two goals.

Best for NNWU were Brayden Bigham, Mitchell Grinham, Tristan Dalbon, Joel Campbell, Joel Walsh and Dean Harrop.

The Demons are being coached by Corey Daniels and Jason Murphy in their quest for back-to-back premierships.

Tyntynder’s best were Elliot Broad, Elia Ware, Coady Gorringe, Charlie Ford, Kyle Doran and Jahmahl Jenkins-Clive.

The Bulldogs are coached by Darcy Bibby, Justin Ellis and Charlie Ford.

Cohuna Kangas won every quarter on the way to a 53-point win at home against Kerang.

The Kangas led 17-9 at quarter-time and then scored 6.1 as it kept Kerang to a tally of 1.4 in the second.

Daniel Coates went on to kick a match-high three goals as Chris and Corbin Anderson, and Tyson Farrant added two in a 98-45 victory.

Kerang’s attack was led by Bohden McKnight on two.

Best for the Jack Geary-coached Cohuna Kangas were on-baller Ricky Monti, Chris Anderson, Jarrod Findlay, Daniel Coates, Sam McGlone and Tyson Farrant.

Tyson Clingan, Cooper Meehan, Martin Kelly, Cody Makeham, Rylee Gitsham and Bohden McKnight worked hard for the Paul Grayling-coached Kerang Blues.

Woorinen’s unbeaten streak kept rolling as it dominated at home against Lake Boga.

The Tim Free-coached Tigers roared to a 29-nil lead by quarter-time and then scored 7.5 as they kept the Magpies to a tally of 3.1 in the second term.

Quarter three was to be one of Woorinen’s best of the season as it slammed on 11.1 to hold a 112-point lead going into the final term.

Jose Miliado finished with six goals in a 166-31 victory.

Other multiple goalkickers for the yellow and black were Doug Beames, Will Collicoat and Lachlan Warburton on three and Jamie Nicholas with two.

Lake Boga’s Koben Ryan slotted two goals.

Best for Woorinen were Henry Thompson, Jose Miliado, Lachlan Gardner, Lachlan Warburton, Jye Barry and Doug Beames.

Braden Padmore, Nelson Ibbs, Darby Hayes, Nathaniel Holmes-Brown, Dylan McCosh and Andrew McDonald were best for the Dean Helmers-coached Lake Boga.

Mallee Eagles soared to a 122-point win at Balranald’s Greenham Park.

The Eagles led 33-9 by the first break and 60-18 at half-time.

Tallies of six and seven goals in quarters three and four meant Mallee led 149-27 at the final siren.

Darcy Hourigan kicked 10 goals in a best-on-ground performance as Andrew Mead-Harding added three.

Other multiple goalkickers for the Eagles were Jonah Devlin, Darcy McGregor and Ethan Pinchen on two.

Balranald’s attack was led by Seth Connell on two.

Best for the Brent Macleod and Harry Allen-coached Mallee Eagles were Darcy Hourigan, Matthew Rankine, Harry McGregor, Ethan Pinchen, Toby Sheahan and Wes Bennett.

Seth Connell, Daniel Harris, Tim Marsh, Ryan Middlebrook, Cruz Jolliffe and Jack Helgeland.

The Kangaroos are jointly coached by Ben Fuller, Ben Mahon and Jack Salau.

Swan Hill meets Koondrook Barham at Swan Hill Recreation Reserve.
