Saints up pressure against Mallee

PRESSURE is the name of the game for Tooleybuc Manangatang in this Saturday’s clash with Mallee Eagles in the Radio 3SH-backed Central Murray senior footy season.

It’s sixth against second on the Saints turf at Tooleybuc Recreation Reserve.

The Brad Morris-coached Saints go into this round in sixth place and four points behind Koondrook Barham.

It will be a huge challenge for Tooleybuc Manangatang as Mallee Eagles won the first round showdown with the Saints by 123 points.

In defence, Tooleybuc Manangatang has John Wardle and Conor Wilson to take on the in-form Darcy Hourigan and Andrew Mead-Harding.

The Saints have Kallum Hazlett in the centre opposed to Eagles’ co-coach Brent Macleod.

Connor Mcdonald teams up with Elliot Chalmers and Blake Grant for the Saints in the on-ball duels with Jacob O’Meara, Eagles’ co-coach Harry Allen and Darcy McGregor.

The Saints will look to Connor Nutting, Isaac Franks and Ethan Johnstone to set up or finish attacks.

Their task will not be easy against Joe Halloran, Tom McGregor and Isaiah Bull.

It’s the Tigers against the Kangaroos as Woorinen hosts Balranald.

An unbeaten run by the Tim Free-coached Woorinen kicked off with a 67-point victory at Balranald’s Greenham Park in round one.

A strong line-up representing the Tigers includes Jye Barry, Doug Beames, Will Collicoat, Lachlan and Matt Gardner, and Elijah and Jose Miliado.

Balranald marked its best match of the season as it won last Saturday’s match against Swan Hill by 82 points.

Best for Balranald were Ryan Middlebrook, Tanner Coulthard, Tom Salau and Tim Marsh.

The Kangaroos have Roarke Smith, Ben and Ian Fuller in attack, Cody Henness in the centre, Tim Marsh and Jarryd Stead in defence.

Huge roles to be played by Balranald on-ballers Cruz Jolliffe, Tanner Coulthard and Jack Salau.

The Kangaroos are jointly coached by Ben Fuller, Ben Mahon and Jack Salau.

Koondrook Barham tackles Tyntynder at Barham Recreation Reserve.

In round one the Marcus Demaria-coached River Raiders beat Tyntynder at Swan Hill’s Alan Garden Reserve by 14 points.

Koondrook Barham will be determined to hit back from a 13-goal loss to Cohuna.

Key players for the River Raiders include ruck-rover Roy George, Reagan Hamilton and Jack Thrum in defence, Kye Attwell and Patrick Goble in attack.

Other players to watch for KB are Jacob Barrington, Lee Dale and Harry Bremner.

Tyntynder will look to Josh Potter, Darcy Bibby and Bailey Reeves to win their fair share of centre clearances and stoppages.

The Bulldogs have Coady Gorringe, Elia Ware and Kyle Doran as targets in attack.

Big roles will be played by Angus Crowe, Harry Simpson and Mick Dedini in Tyntynder’s defence.

The Bulldogs are jointly coached by Darcy Bibby, Justin Ellis and Charlie Ford.

It’s eighth against seventh as Lake Boga meets Kerang at Lake Boga Sports Club.

The Dean Helmers-coached Lake Boga beat the Blues by 45 points.

Last round Lake Boga was on the end of an 83-point drubbing from Nyah Nyah West United at Nyah.

Match-ups to watch in the clash of the Magpies and Blues include Lake Boga’s Zac Warne in the centre against Nic Oliver, Mardy McDonald in the ruck against Jordan McNeil.

Lake Boga has Braden Padmore, Willem Pye, Jayden Lonergan and Xavier Sherlock capable of winning many contests.

Kerang will be fired up after being held to a tally of four goals in last Saturday’s clash with Mallee Eagles at Lalbert.

The Blues have Zak Bozanich and Cody Makeham to team up as ruck-rover and rover.

A Kerang line-up coached by Paul Grayling includes Archer Dibsdale and Bohden, Flynn and Jonah McKnight in attack, Jordan Clingan in midfield, Martin Kelly and Thomas Hetherington in defence.

It’s the Swans against the Demons as Swan Hill plays Nyah Nyah West United at Swan Hill Recreation Reserve.

The run at back-to-back premierships for the NNWU Demons kicked off with a 10-goal win at Nyah in round one.

A Demons’ line-up jointly coached by Corey Daniels and Jason Murphy includes Jordan Iudica in the centre, Dominic Gallo as rover, Alex Birch and Nash Richman in attack.

Dean Harrop, Jaydyn Stirling and Alex Erlandson join forces in NNWU’s defence.

Been a tough season for the Michael Herlihy-coached Swan Hill which has a one-nine record.

Key players for the Swans include Tom Holdstock, Cooper Angus, Kallen Heslop, Sunny Handy, Perry Roberts and Wilhem Bennett.
