SANDHURST broke Castlemaine’s unbeaten streak in Sunday’s match to complete round 10 in the Champions IGA-backed CVFL senior women’s footy season.

The Dragons teamed superbly at Castlemaine’s Camp Reserve by eight points.

Unbeaten in its run to premiership glory in ’23 and ’24, Castlemaine’s win streak was at more than 40 after it won the opening seven matches of the ’25 campaign.

On Sunday the Jordan Cochrane-coached Castlemaine flew to a 20-9 lead by quarter-time.

Sandhurst hit back to win the second, 19-14.

The Magpies held a 15-point buffer going into the final term.

Golden Square struck back to keep Eaglehawk scoreless in the second term as the blue and gold added three behinds.

There was no score in the third quarter.
