SCORES were locked on 50-all as the final whistle sounded to end the Bendigo Bank Heathcote DFNL A-grade netball clash between Elmore and North Bendigo on Saturday.
The Bloods and Bulldogs played out a great match on the Elmore Recreation Reserve court in the 10th round of the season.
Because both teams received two points it meant the fifth-placed Elmore is still a win clear of the Bulldogs in the fight for a finals berth.
Next up for Elmore will be a showdown with long-time rival Winslow Constructors White Hills Demons on Saturday at the Scott Street ground in White Hills.
As the Elmore team coached by Cayde Hayes, playing, and Hayley Langdon, non-playing, takes to the court it will be a rest for North Bendigo.
The Kiralee Kinder-coached Bulldogs will play White Hills on July 5 at Bendigo Club Oval in North Bendigo’s Atkins Street.
In Saturday’s other matches there were wins for Harlowe Huntly Hawks, Mount Pleasant and White Hills.
The Hawks withstood a spirited challenge from Lockington Bamawm United to win 59-55 at Huntly’s Strauch Reserve.
The Ashlea Sherlock and Kym Bell-coached Huntly led 17-13 at quarter-time and 33-27 by the main break.
The LBU Cats clawed their way back to be within three goals going into the final quarter.
Huntly won the term, 13-12, to clinch a 59-55 victory against an LBU team coached by Kerryn Giorgianni and Shelby Stone.
The Hawks will be back on their court next Saturday to play Leitchville Gunbower.
Although it is winless, LBU showed it cannot be taken lightly.
The Cats make their way to Toolleen next Saturday to play Mount Pleasant.
The Anthea McCleary-coached Mount Pleasant won last Saturday’s match at Heathcote’s Pigeon Park by 30 goals.
A 62-32 victory ensured the Blues held third place on the ladder.
A tough run for the Anna Dundon-coached Heathcote rolls on as the Saints play at Colbinabbin’s M.J. Morgan Oval next round.
The unbeaten Grasshoppers who are coached by Jen McIntyre had the bye in the 10th round.
Take away being outscored by eight goals in the second quarter and Leitchville Gunbower took it right up to White Hills at Gunbower.
The Elly Lawton-coached White Hills led 13-12 at quarter-time and then won the second term, 16-8.
