IT’S season over for Sea Lake Nandaly or Boort at the end of Saturday’s first semi-final in Goldacres North Central senior footy.
The Tigers and Magpies will clash at Birchip’s George Cartwright Oval from 2.30pm.
Margins in their matches across the home-and-away series were eight and 11 points.
In round four the Dale Cameron-coached Boort marked a 70-62 win at Boort Park against the premier of the previous two seasons.
The Tigers bounced back to defeat the Magpies, 71-60 at Sea Lake in the 11th round.
A win-loss tally of 12-4 meant the Billy McInnes and Bryce Delmenico-coached Sea Lake Nandaly finished the 16-round home-and-away series in third place.
Boort was fourth on a 10-6 record.
The on-ball contests will play a key factor in determining the winner of the first semi.
Sea Lake Nandaly has the experience of Ryan O’Sullivan, Trent and Wade Donnan.
The Magpies will have James Wilson, Jayden Dick and Tom Potter to compete at centre ball-ups and stoppages.
In the centre Bryce Delmenico will be opposed to the talented Jarrod Fitzpatrick.
A strong attack for Sea Lake Nandaly includes Lachy McClelland, Max Cahoon, Adam Pattison and former Adelaide Crows and Geelong forward Josh Jenkins.
It will be a massive test for Boort defenders Keiren Wilson, Ryan McGhie, Kieren Jaksic and Jack Smith.
Boort’s attack is led by Jhye Baddeley-Kelly, James Keeble, James Byrne and Will Perryman.
Tigers’ defenders Jack Poulton, Billy McInnes, Kane Donnan and Luke Martin defend well and are also strong on the counter-attack.
The winner of Saturday’s clash will have a break until September 6 when it will meet Birchip-Watchem or Calder United Lions in the preliminary final at St Arnaud’s Lord Nelson Park.
In the Haeuslers reserves first semi-final it will be Birchip-Watchem against Sea Lake Nandaly from 12.35pm.
In round three the Birchip-Watchem Bulls charged to a 70-35 win at Sea Lake Oval.
The Bulls marked a 70-41 win against the Tigers in round 10 at Birchip’s George Cartwright Oval.
Boort will tackle Calder United Lions in the Charlton and District Community Bank under-17s first semi-final from 10.55am.
In round five the Lions beat the Magpies, 62-50 in Wycheproof.
Boort hit back brilliantly to score an 85-28 victory against Calder United in the 12th round at Boort Park.
The North Central’s footy finals series kicks off with the Uniting Church under-14s first semi-final between Donald and Boort from 9.30am.
In round three it was the Royal Blues who starred on their turf in Donald to claim a 72-19 victory.
Just seven points separated the teams as Boort won the round 10 match, 32-25 at Boort Park.
The North Central FNL second semi-finals will be played on August 30 at Boort Park.
Birchip-Watchem puts its unbeaten run on the line against Calder United Lions when the seniors clash starts at 2.30pm.
