CHASING a premiership hat-trick, Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers outplayed Boort in the Goldacres North Central senior footy first semi-final on Saturday in Birchip.
The Tigers and Magpies fought to keep their seasons alive at George Cartwright Oval.
Sea Lake Nandaly raced to a 20-2 lead by quarter-time and then scored six goals as Boort booted three in the second term.
By half-time the yellow and black led 58-20.
Both teams scored 14 points in the third quarter.
Led by the play of Max Cahoon, Wade Donnan and Tyson McKenzie it was Sea Lake Nandaly which added another four goals in the final term to complete a 101-47 victory.
Former Adelaide and Geelong key forward Josh Jenkins kicked a match-high five goals as Lachy McClelland and John Summerhayes added two each.
Max Cahoon, Jarvis Keogh, Tyson McKenzie, Austin Mertz and Adam Pattison were also on target for the Tigers.
Goalkickers for Boort were Jhye Baddeley-Kelly, Ethan Coleman, Lachlan Hall, Kieren Jaksic, James Keeble, Will Perryman and Harry Weaver.
Best for the Billy McInnes and Bryce Delmenico-coached Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers included Lachy McClelland, Jack Poulton and Ryan O’Sullivan.
Matt Austin, James Keeble, Tom Potter, James Wilson, James Byrne and Alex Chamberlain were best for the Dale Cameron-coached Boort.
In the Haeuslers reserves first semi-final, Birchip-Watchem overcame an eight-point deficit at half-time to beat Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers by 16 points.
The SLN Tigers led 28-20 at the long break, but it was Birchip-Watchem which scored three goals and kept the yellow and black scoreless in the third term.
Both teams added a goal in the last as the Birchip-Watchem Bulls marked a 51-35 victory.
Boort and Calder United Lions met in the Charlton and District Community Bank under-17s first semi-final.
The Lions led 18-2 at half-time, but it was the Magpies who dominated the second half.
Boort scored 4.10 and kept Calder United Lions to just a point in the last two quarters.
By the final siren Boort led 36-19.
The finals series kicked off with the Uniting Church under-14s first semi-final between Donald and Boort.
The Boort Magpies made a great start and led 19-7 at quarter-time and 26-14 by the main break.
As Boort added 1.2 in the third it kept Donald scoreless.
A high-scoring final term went Boort’s way, 14-12, as the Magpies soared to a 48-26 victory.
