Important match on Bridgewater’s court
FOURTH and fifth on the A-grade ladder, Marong and Bridgewater meet in Saturday’s 11th round of the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley Football Netball League season.
The Panthers and Mean Machine will be desperate to take the points in a big match on Bridgewater’s court.
After last week’s home-court loss to Maiden Gully YCW at Malone Park, Marong is now fourth and in a fight to regain third place from Mitiamo.
The Panthers and Superoos are locked on 26 points, but Mitiamo is 15 per cent clear.
A win for Bridgewater will strengthen its grip on the fifth rung.
When these teams met in round two, Marong outran the Machine, 44-35.
The Panthers will be desperate to strike back from a 20-goal loss to the Eagles in the 10th round, while Bridgewater aims to keep the winning run going after a 36-28 victory at Pyramid Hill.
The in-form Mitiamo returns to John Forbes Oval to take on Newbridge which was refreshed by the bye.
In round two, the Superoos won 53-31 on Newbridge’s court at Holloway Air Riverside Oval.
Mitiamo dominated the round 10 match at Gadsden Finance Serpentine Reserve to score an 84-23 win against the Bears.
After a two week break because of the Queen’s Birthday holiday and then drawn to play Inglewood, Calivil United will be back on its court to play Bears Lagoon Serpentine.
The second-placed Demons won their previous clash with the Bears by 27 goals and are likely to be strong on the Calivil court.
It’s a rest for Maiden Gully YCW in A-grade, but the Eagles will play Inglewood in the lower grades at Marist College Bendigo in Maiden Gully.
Pyramid Hill has the bye.
